Hello Everyone! I just joined Jenny Direct and am expecting my food to arrive tomorrow (6/14). How fulfilling is this food for people who are active? I regularly exercise and paint walls (faux finish) for a living. I just hope I can live with this lower calorie lifestyle.

I just started yesterday and was a little hungry late in the day, and I'm not overly active. Don't skip any food and drink tons of water.

I was starving for the first 3 days, then it was fine.
Your body has to get used to it, and it takes a bit of time. Drink lots of water, eat lots of extra veggies, use your 3 limited servings per day, and you'll be fine!

After the second week I had no problem with volume. I did eat more carrots and celery in the beginning. Drink a lot of water, throughout the day. That helped!

Buy lots of canned green beans! You'll be surprised how they can take the edge off (straight out of the can, no heating or anything)!

Green beans, great idea!

Wouldn't canned vegetables have alot of sodium in them?

I had some of the same concerns as I workout every day... and with a trainer 4 of those days... surprisingly, it's been great... I really haven't got hungry and if I do before I think I should eat next I grab a veggie or drink more and it subsides... the breakfasts are substantial enough that my work outs are better and I have more energy... so... so far so good for me!

Everyone is different, but I too worked with a trainer 3 days a week, and did cardio the other 3 days on 1200 calories a day..didn't lose any lean body tissue, just 100 pounds of fat. Was I hungry, YES! but I lost the weight, and had the energy to work out and take care of 3 kids.
Good Luck,

How can i get the energy to work out more? right now i'm on the 1500, but i feel so tired at the end of the day i just want to eat, check email & go to bed... i sleep about 6-7 hours a night & work an 9 hour day most days.... i only go to the gym two days a week on my days off because that's the only time i feel like i can squeeze it in and not feel like collapsing. suggestions on getting more energy & getting this weight off faster are very appreciated!!

JACKAL-
Congrats on your success!!! I am amazed by your before and after pics, and can imagine how proud you are to have become a certified personal trainer! Although I was very inspired by your pics and stats, it's your quote that really touched me (and literally almost brought tears to my eyes the second I read it). I have been on and off program so many times, but am finally ready to make a commitment to making permanent changes toward a healthy lifestyle. After so many "failures", it was refreshing to think that I should actually be proud of myself for picking back up and restarting, as opposed to condemning myself for all the times I have "fallen". Thank you for that!!!

The days I workout w/ my trainer for 1 hour train and then 30 minutes of cardio ( 1 1/2 hours) I drink a whey protein shake.
My days I workout at home (not as intense) I drink an EAS drink for 110 calories and it helps me out alot and + the 'freebie' foods.
It hasn't stopped or stalled my weight loss and you NEED that extra food/protein when exercising.
For me, I need to add a protein shake. Also, if I BURN 300 calories ~ I EAT them!!
Good luck!!

Noe, I also am way too tired by the evening to workout. What I started doing is getting up extra early and getting my workout in first thing in the morning. By the time I'm done I am wide awake and feeling refreshed. Then I take a shower and get ready for the long day ahead. Believe me, many mornings I have to force myself to get up, but afterwards it feels good to have that over with, one less thing to worry about the rest of the day.

Noe,
If you can establish a regular ongoing routine of exercise either in the am or pm after a while you'll get over feeling tired.
I typically work about 7-9 hours every day faux finishing walls and painting murals. Many times climbing to do 18 foot walls or building scaffolding. Many evenings I feel incredibly tired. I find if I make myself work out then I get my second wind. I think if you can establish that routine you'll start to mentally and physically need the exercise. It also helps to relieve stress (especially an evening workout).
My biggest problem with this routine is the hunger I have. I know I've put on extra weight because I don't control my eating. I'm going to do my best to stick to the meal plan!

Read something yesterday that fits right into this thread:
"There are 1440 minutes in the day. Is it really that hard to put aside 30 of them for exercise?"
