This is my second day with JC , I am doing the pre-selected menue. I am not feeling well with a headache, I have stopped caffeine, drinking water and caffeine free diet pepsi. I often find myself hungry. On the first day it seemed as if I couldn't stand to eat any more food, now day two I am hungry. Can anyone suggests ways of less uncomfortability. I am following the menu with a few allowable changes.

I too am finishing my second day on program and am using the preselected menu this week. So far the food has been very tasty and seems to be enough for me. As for what to do if you are still hungry -- do the freebies and drink lots of water. Your headache should go away within a few days since it is most likely caffeine withdrawal. Maybe you should just wean yourself over a period of a week by reducing amounts each day until you are off caffeine completely. That helps with the headache.

BEE,
Hang in there! Did you give up caffeine cold turkey? There's your headache right there. YIKES! Wean yourself off of it. For now, give yourself the Diet Pepsi and be done with it! It may slow things down, but it won't stop your progress. I've lost 6.3 pounds so far and I've had 1-3 DC's a day.
If you haven't already seen it, go look at my post WI #2 - Aloha. There's a reply by Princess Rose that talks about caffeine and weight loss. I trust her insight. She gives the name of a product that helped her through it.
Personally, I'm not ready to give up caffeine yet - although I'm consciously trying to cut down. I do think it hinders my success - but I'm a true addict to this stuff. My poison of choice is DC with Splenda. I know that one day very soon I'll say ENOUGH - but right now I'm still struggling with staying on program and my DC is my comfort zone.
Good Luck and be sure to let us know how you do!!!!! Stay the course.....

Why are you giving up the caffeine entirely, and so quickly? Unless you were ordered off it cold turkey by a doctor, allow yourself some for now, and wean yourself off it gradually.
I'm nt sure it is absolutely necessary to eliminate it entirely anyway. I whink this is a controversy that makes so little difference in the long run that you should do what youfeel best with.
For myself, I like having my full octane espresso in my nonfat lattes in the morning, to jump-start my metabolism. After that, I might have one Diet Pepsi, as long as it's before 4 pm. After that, it's caffeine-free for me, or I'll be up all night.
While large amounts of caffeine are probably not a good thing, a small amount should not be harmful.

I too have not found it necessary to cut out caffeine totally. I wasn't told that I needed to. I have one LARGE coffe with fat free Coffee Mate in the AM and sometimes have a diet Dr. Pepper in the afternoon. I'll sometimes have a sugar free Red Bull if I feel like it as well. I used to drink tons of coffee when I worked third shift at the hospital for 14 yrs and then for some reason I stopped coffee--bad headache. My doctor asked me why I stopped altogether and then said that it really wasn't necessary but like all things, in moderation. But I am not an expert at JC, nor do I work for them ,so I am just speaking for myself.
Good Luck to You!!

Hey Bee Bee -
Your headache should be gone in a day or so, so hang in there! I have cut caffiene out completely, about two weeks ago, and as moderate caffiene drinker my withdrawl headache was gone within 24 hours.
My suggestion to you is to go for a walk, nap, do whatever you can do to ignore it, and you should wake up feeling much better tomorrow!
The headache is caused by constricting blood vessels, part of the caffience withdrawl, so asprin can help too. Hang in there - I was very hungry my first few days on the program, mostly cravings, but it got better. Best of luck to you!

Well I didn't last a week. I started over two weeks later, and didn't do well the first week. My counselor was wonderful! She has helped me plan my menus. My first day was Sunday and I didn't eat my menu foods. Today Is Monday, so far so good. I just want to stop this yo yo, and I want to stick to it this time. I am in school, so that has me distracted, and I am reaching for comfort foods. But I know with the support of my friends, family and JC. I can do this!
Everyone stay encouraged!

Yeah, I don't understand why any of you are giving up java???? What's the purpose. My counselor didn't say anything to me and I'm drinking close to 10 cups a day, and water. Humm, I would question that one for sure. I have coffee in the afternoon to stave off hunger until dinner, and it helps. Rethink it, and ask about it again.

Not being a coffee drinker I don't know how much it has in wasted calories. I gave up caffeine just because it is bad for you. I used to drink one diet pepsi a day, then went to sprite now all soda is gone. I honestly can tell you I don't miss it. I actually feel better without the craving for something sweet. They are wasted calories for me. My cousin, PT in Fl, told me that the carmel colors in the soft drinks break down the fluid in the upper neck and increases the risk for osteoporosis. I checked with my dr and he agreed. So that was enough for me. I want to be healthy and skinny! It has been over a year since I draink caffeine and almost 8 months without a soda!

BusymominRI, coffee isn't bad for you. It's actually good for a person that isn't sensitive to it. It can stimulate your metabolism, and help you have a better WO too. Coffee doesn't have empty calories, it's considered water OP. Unless you add cream to it, then it would be once a day only. GFY getting off of soda, that stuff IS bad for anyone. Water is best. Have a good day.
