Hi all,
I love JC, but having only one problem. I HATE veggies I know people think I am nutz! But I have tried them all, all different ways, with all sorts of sauces, ect. ect. I CANNOT keep them down! I gag and if I keep forcing myself I THROW UP! My Husband says he gives me an A for effort, but hates to see me struggle. I have kept with my JC program. I am on week 3 and have NOT cheated once ! But, I have been skipping the salads/veggies this last week. I told my consultant, she says to keep trying and I will get used to them, I CAN'T! I have tried that all of my life. I'd rather skip em. I even tried V8, again with the same darn results. I KNOW it is all in my head, but how can I get over this or better sub something for the salads and veggies. JC is sooooooo easy, but I cannot get over this veggie/salad thing. HELP!!!!

Dolphin you are not alone. I too hate most veggies but at least I can eat a lettuce salad and tomatoes, onion, and yes I like V8. You mean there is absolutly no vegtable in the hole world that you will eat?? Boy I thought I was bad. bless your heart.

Juice them and add some apple or other fruit to them, you can't taste the veggies at all, and you are getting them in the best way. Like carrots and apple juice tastes like a smoothie apple juice, so very good if you don't like veggies.
I have tried simple tasty ones like canned green beans, asparagus. The only one I can eat raw is celery, but with low fat peanut butter. But the best way I've enjoyed it is juiced.
Check out the Naked line of juices green machine. It's SO good, and good for you!

Hey Dolphin. I don't think that you're alone in not liking veggies. If we all faithfully did our veggies we wouldn't find ourselves in this boat (overweight).
My question would be...what is it that you don't like? the taste? texture? the thought of them? what?
Maybe once you identify the problem you will be able to move forward.
I can't handle cooked carrots for example but love them raw with a wee bit of dip.
You can grate carrots or zuchinni really fine and add to sauces and you don't even taste them. You really gotta try and find a way to get 'em in. Good luck.

Thank you for all your replies...I know you all must think I am a 30 year old baby, but think of a food that you really cannot eat and you are forced to do it over and over again. For example, I love Escargo (snail). Most people hate that...
Trixxie: I am taking vitamins. I have taken them all of my life, due to this. I know I am crazy...and I know I cannot sub for them, but Im really having a ROUGH time. I CANNOT get used to it! But, thanks for trying to help.
BunnyBear: I thought I was the only one...well, I am still the only one that cannot do any. (except potatoes and corn but those are starches) ...Your lucky to be able to do lettuce, tomatoes and onions. I can do tomato sauce (not chunky)...ugh hopeless if this juice thing doesn't work!
Lazuli: Thank you Thank you...I am going to try this! I will check out the site...I will have to use one of my fruits per day to mix it right...? Gosh, I hope this works!
Thanks again to you all, if anyone thinks of ANYTHING more just let me know, I will try ANYTHING!

Hey...
I too hate veggies! I'm probably just as bad as you are, maybe even worse! I also only eat the 'starchy' veggies. I don't like anything about salads....and that's the one thing that everyone says I should eat a bunch of...'eat a salad, eat lotsa veggies to help curb hunger....you'll like them if you eat them long enuff' . I figure I haven't liked them for over 30 years, I doubt very seriously that if I force myself to eat them (as I did when I was younger) that I would like them...IT JUST AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!
So I totally feel ur frustrations!! Maybe we can help each other! HAHA

Have you tried the V8 VFusion? Its wonderful. The flavor I use is Strawberry/Banana (I loath bananas but do NOT taste them in this). One serving equals BOTH one veggie/one fruit. My consultant told me I can have that in place of my salads I was getting sick of. I didn't have salad at all last week and had the VFusion in its place. This week I am going to try to alternate so I don't get too sick of either of them. I thing the raw veggies are great for fiber, etc but I do understand your hang up.
Good luck and I will keep up with this thread in case anyone has another suggestion.

Just want to add something to the 'salad thing'. I was really getting tired of the salad and so many fruits so......I am now enjoying a spinach salad w/manadrin oranges and Newman's low fat oriental dressing and it is killer! It also counts for the fruit choice I am finding hard to do as well (went from Adkins of no/little to no fruit to JC w/a lot of fruit). Just need a change every now and then and this works once a week. Also....I am now doing salad with low fat sour cream and salsa and it taste more like a taco (w/out shell) than a salad. I am to the point I am just looking for variety. Any other salad ideas?????
