Hello to all. Newbie here. Started my program on Tuesday. LOVE the food so far. I don't feel deprived, and the food is yummy and doesn't have a 'diet' taste.
Just wanted to introduce myself. I've a feeling I may be depending on all of you a lot as this progresses.

Welcome Iron/Carla! I have only been on for three weeks, I WI tomorrow. The food is good there are somethings I won't buy again, but pretty much everything is really good. I have found myself on this website more and more, it really helps.

Hello everyone,
I just started the program on Tuesday and I have to say that I miss my sweets so much. Every now and then I take a bite of something forbidden but I really am trying. What exercises do you all do to aide in the weight lost?

Hi, I just started the program this morning. I have been reading these boards for a few days before going in this morning and the boards seem like a great source of motivation. Good luck to us.

Hi Everyone-
I'm on day 3 of the first week...so far so good. The food is good and plenty of it. I like to eat every 2-3 hours. The only thing I'm not liking is so much yogurt.

Hi...
I just joined this week. A part of me regreats spending soooooo much money. I joined the rewards plan. I have 30lbs to loose. When you break down $400, it is $33/mo, so that makes it a little easier to digest...but I originally joined thinking I would do all planned meals, but now I cannot afford to buy 7 days of entire meals. Are prople successful with both planned meals and meals on your own? I tried Weight Watchers in the past, and left to my own devices, I just do not loose the weight!
Just looking to feel a little more at ease with my decision to join.

the food is spendy, i also joined the rewards program, can we pick our own food or do we have to pick their first 2 weeks of planned menus, i looked at the menu upcoming for week 2 and id much rather choose some other meals, will they let you pick your own?

The first week they gave me food, for the second week on the planned, I told them there were certains things I did not like and switched them for something I knew I liked. Now I tell them, and each week I try something new, that sounds good.

Hi,
You can always choose to go with a personalized menu. I have never used one of the planned menus.
If you cannot afford to buy all JC food, I recommend getting as many lunches and dinners as you can and doing breakfast by buying a good, high fiber, lower fat cereal to use in place of the JC cereals. You can save that way. You can also compare calories etc. and buy some of the Lean Cuisine or other less expensive frozen meals at the store. They will still help to teach you the portions you should be eating. If you buy fewer of the JC frozen foods you can save but the frozen meals are by far the better tasting as far as I am concerned.
Good luck with the program!

Congratulations Iron/Carla for joining the program. I INVITE YOU AND ALL THOSE WHO POSTED HEAR TO JOIN THE DISCUSSION WE ARE HAVING IN "NEW MEMBERS- WHY DID WE GAIN WEIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE."
You will find it is very liberating to annouce to yourself and the world what are your root causes for gaining weight. Anyone can lose weight if they just put their mind to it. Keeping it off and breaking the cycle that patterns you to gain weight takes an entire different level of self-awareness.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hello right back at you! I started the program on the 20th, and so far I really enjoy the food too...with one or two exceptions. I'm still pretty psyched about the whole program right now, but I'm sure that I'll be needing encouragement from other members as my enthusiasm starts to go downhill after a couple of weeks. That's my usual pattern anyway. I live in SC, where it is currently a "comfortable" 90 degress each day. Makes wanting to go outside for a walk difficult! Good luck- and keep in touch if you need any support!

I joined on the 21st and put off starting JC food until today (24th). I am having a horrible time getting it down, ready to say forget it. I am a first time dieter and so eating healthy is sooooo hard. I am ready to give up but reading other posting has been encouraging. I hope that I can stick to it!

Hi all. I've been on JC since July 3rd. It's slow going for me, but that is okay, it is still coming off.
I really like the food. I've never done the planned menu - I like having some control over what I eat, so I pick my menu. Use the menu planner on-line then print it and bring it with you to your consultation - saves time and decision-making on the spot.
Tiffany - give it time, you'll get used to eating healthy - especially when you start to have more energy and you see the weight melting off. I have to say I have REALLY enjoyed the food myself.
Teensplusone - I believe they have bars you can buy to substitute for the yogurt - ask your consultant. I love yogurt and could eat it for all my snacks.
Dedicated1 - as far as exercise goes, just make sure you are moving all day. Park far out in parking lots, take the stairs. When you feel like snacking, take a walk. I have started doing these 30 minute classes at my gym and I really like them. I'm sore the day or two after, and I love that kind of pain - means I'm actually working the muscles
Take care all and remember, we CAN DO THIS!

I'm anxiously awaiting my first weigh in on Thursday, and I'm excited. I joined last week, after my parents left from a 2 week visit and I had undone the 7 pounds I'd lost over the past 2 months!! I really think the regimented program will help me, because you don't have to think so much about the food. So far the food is good and I'm not having too much trouble sticking to it--some days its even hard to eat it all. We had a busy weekend and are going away this weekend, so I'm going to try and be strong !!!! I'll report back on my [hopeful]progress !
