I joined Jenny Craig a few months ago and did really well the first couple of weeks. Than I got side tracked with the holidays and haven't followed the diet at all. I want to start again b/c I want to lose weight. I am getting married in June and want to lose 30 lbs. by than but I am afraid I won't be able to....I guess I am afraid to fail. I feel so angry, hurt and frustrated that I even allowed myself to get this heavy. I was always very active and thin when I was younger. Now I just feel fat and ugly. I need motivation and I dont know what to do. I am more or less depressed about my weight.

Hey jellybean, don't despair. Almost everyone on this site has been in your situation at one time or another. You have over 18 weeks until June, you can definitely reach your goal of 30lbs. Think of it in smaller terms, it's losing less than 2 pounds a week. Good luck.

Jellybean ~it is ok. You can do it. Jump back on the weight loss wagon. It isnt always simple..and we can totally over think it..i have. But you have to commit to yourself. think of this way you have a goal and nothing is more important than your goal..and you will do whatever you have to , to get there. commit to not eating off plan until you have lost the amount of weight you want to lose. Make losing weight the most important thing to you besides the almost hubby Dream about it, read all you can about weight loss surround your self with self help this is possible....

Keep your head up! You are worthy of good health and all of the advantages that go with it.
This email message was sent to me this morning and I think it puts things in perspective.
A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked,"Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started going up.He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this. He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill. He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air. Well, he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air. My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and
the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value.
Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased,
you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you.

Hi Jelly,
I remember something I was told a few years ago when I started the weightloss journey.
Each day will pass regardless of whether you follow the program or not...so take one day at a time and enjoy the journey. It didn't go on over night and unfortunately it can'y come off that way.
You can do this.

Something that really helped me - the book Thin for Life. The first Key to Success in there is positive self talk. If you think you are a failure, then you are. But, if you truly believe and tell yourself that you can succeed on this plan, then you can. You absolutely can do this - like it or not, you are the same as all the rest of us - an unhappy, overweight person. There is nothing special or unique about you (and I don't mean that in a bad way). Just like all of us can do it if we put our minds to it - so can you. But you have to believe that.

The best thing I can tell you, jenny sister, (besides don't feel bad, I've done that too), is what I have on my quote.
It's not where you are, but in which direction you're heading!
Start something - anything. You don't have a bunch of changes all at once. Start with getting and staying on program. Or move 5 more minutes today than yesterday.
I know it sounds corny, but I always get a lot of encouragement to start/stay on plan from one of the things on the touchstones CD...if an airplane is traveling somewhere, and it makes a directional adjustment of one degree, you can't immediately see the difference. But over time, that one degree change will put you in an entirely different place. You don't have to think of the enormity of the task - just make that move over one degree. Just one degree, over time, is all it takes to make the difference.
Good luck!!!
