Hi Gang.
I'm dissapoinnted after my first week to have only lost - 0.6lbs. I'm in the 250lbs range on 1500 calories (low activity due to injury) and thought that I would have faired much better my first week in. It was a bit disheartening to get on the scale today.
I normally expect a 1-2/per week loss, and I didn't even make it to that.
I stayed completely on-program, drank about 2L of water each day and did as much walking as I could (I'm recovering from an injury, so a lot of exercise isn't an option right now).
I did eat extra green veggies everyday (I find that helped me stick to the 1500) Sometimes with a tsp. of fat free dressing (in the 1-3 limited foods per day) but mostly with fat-free cooking spray.
Is there anything else you could recommend? I want to stay on program, but I have 75lbs to lose and at this rate I'll be here forever!

Hi DigitalGirl...could it be that TOM (time of the month) When I restarted, had a good 1st week, then only 1lb the next, then it picked up again. Keep drinking the water that really helps. Re: the extra veggies, they are part of the free food, so that shouldn't be a problem. Make sure you are eating all your food. As I learned and some of my JC buddies explained, when you don't consume all your food, your body can go into starvation mode.
Take care and hang in there!

i didn't lose anything my first week. don't be too discouraged. everyone's body responds differently. mine ramps up very slowly with weight loss, and is strongly effected by TOM. if you weren't retaining water especially, you won't see the "big" first week losses some other people experience.

Thanks for the feedback gang.
I was just expecting to see a big loss, especially because the calorie jump is a lot less from what I used to be eating.
Did Jenny recently add this "free foods" category?

Digital, what counts is not how much less you were eating than when you were gaining, but how much less you are eating than your daily calorie expenditure, plus your resting metabolic rate. Stick with it, drink your water, exercise when you can start doing it, and everything will be OK.
When I first started, I was sort of amazed that I only lost one pound the first week, a half pound the second week, and seven pound the third week. There was even a period of time shortly before I went into a long plateau (while I rebuilt my metabolism by lifting weights), when I would lose nothing one week, and 2-2 1/2 pounds the next--whille adhering strictly to the program each week!
Now think what would have happened if I had let the no-loss week get me down. I would have become so discouraged that I would have turned to food, and I wouldn't have shown the big loss the following week.
Stick with it. You'll do just fine, even if you are a slow loser like me.

Hi DigitalGirl,
I have an injury too and I wonder how I will lose the weight not being able to do much exercies. I get into the pool at the gym but still have to be careful not to hurt myself more. I'm on my 4th week and have lost 8.5 pounds so far. I figure it will be alot slower than most who can excercise harder. Maybe with the weight loss I will be able to exercise more. I started at 295 lbs and am happy that I've lost the 8.5 lbs without much exercise.
Also, this is the 2nd time I've been on Jenny Craig. The first time was about 12 years ago and I loved it but financially I couldn't afford it so I couldn't stick with it. Now, my body seems to be doing the same thing it did years ago. I'll lose 1/2 lb one week then 1/2 lb the next week and them lose 4 lbs the next week. So maybe you are like me and you'll lose more every few weeks.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the support gang - it really means a lot to me. I'm being really good this week, so hopefully my results will start to show.
My ankle is broken, so I'm off exercising for the next 2 months, so hopefully it won't slow me down too much.
Thanks again!

I'm right there with you, I weighed in today after 5 days, feeling much better but was up 1.5 lbs. Go figure. But I shrugged it off because I know it will work.
I wish I could work in having my one glass of red wine in the evenings. That would be nice!

Hey Digital Girl,
You're not alone! I only lost 1 pound in my first week's weigh in yesterday. I was so upset! My consultant told me it was normal, and everyone here keeps telling me to hang in there.
You hang in there, too!!
