I have been on JC now for 13 days. Had two weigh ins and have only lost 2.8 lbs. I started at 161. It is so depressing. I feel like what is the use. I have followed the 1200 menu, and except for the first 5 days, I have exercised. What gives?

Two weeks and down 2.8 pounds? I am glad if I loose 0.6/week! If your weight is 160 pounds, your healthy weight loss should not exceed 1-2% per week, so it is 1.2-2.4 week, which makes all the sence with your 2.8 figure.
If you look for quick unhealthy weight loss when you loose 10 pounds is 10 days - there are tons of ads, but you will suffer healthwise. It is your choice, but your weight loss is great and nothing to worry about.

Week 2 Gain .6 lb / 1200
Week 3 Gain .5 lb / 1200
Week 4 Loss 2.2 lb / 1500
Week 5 Loss 1.8 lb / 1500
Week 6 Gain 2.0 lb / 1500 ?
Week 7 Gain 1.8 lb / 1500 ?
Week 8 Loss .2 lb / 1700 for 4 day/1500/3
You just need to stick with this program, I know for a fact that it does work, many years ago I was on this program and lost 37 lbs. Weighing at 137 finally! I did maintain my weight up to 142 lbs for a few years, then I had surgery on my spine through my neck; after that it was hard to keep up, so over time I put it back on and then some. I never had a weight problem early in my years until after my second child.
I should be very upset, but you know I feel so good inside, extra energy, motivated even though I have not lost much! If I can hang in there for this long and keep pressing on, you can too, your loss is great! I would highly recomend upping your calorie intake if you excercise is consistant 5 x weekly every week. You definitely need to fuel your body. Hang in there, I am! Plus I know it may be costly, but if you go out a few times weekly with your family, it all adds up! Stick with the menus, I'm full all of the time and I keep myself occupied.
Don't give up, you're doing great!

yall dont have that much to lose so it is normal to lose slowly. at least youre not gaining. just keep at it and it will pay off

To me any loss is good. I too have been excersing and I keep trying to tell myself muscle weighs more than fat. I lost 7.5 in 4 weeks and 4.5 inches. Dont be discouraged, Im trying not to. Now I weigh 184, 50 to go, or should I say 49. HA!
