Nicole maybe you need to try and remeber and write down what your motivation was when you first started. What brought you to JC, how you felt after your first weighin. Better yet go out and buy a cute pair of jeans or pants you like that is 1 size smaller than your wearing now and use that as your incentive. When you get into them, guess what it's time to go out and buy a smaller pair.
You can do this look how far you've come, it's so great to see how well you're doing.
It seems so hard to keep in the right frame of mind during the holidays and also with winter in full swing, but, just think at the jump start you've gotten! Summer is right around the corner and you'll be able to buy a new summer wardrobe. Did you know that most people gain 15 - 20 pounds during the holidays, and you're losing! That's Awesome!!! If you can figure a 1 lb loss per week from now until end of may you'll be down another 24lbs.!!!!!
Keep Up the Great Work!!

Nicole, here's another lifeline...don't think about the lack of motivation to exercise...just start moving. If you are able to take a few minutes in the am, do it then. Roll into your sneakers with your pajamas on (it doesn't matter)Usually, motivation to continue kicks in after 3-5 minutes of continuous moving. Try it girl. I bet you'll want to do more. I'm sharing this because that is what is helping me become motivated again. Exercise!! I'm feeling better doing it. Another thing...if you have any time during lunch (and it's not so cold where you are). Walk girl!! Ten minutes out of your lunch can get you motivated as well. Or....go somewhere private and march in place. Take your sneakers. I tell you, I may not conquer this eating thing so easily but darn it...I'm going to conquer something (smile). Keep us posted. Tell us when things change. I know it will be soon. Terry

I'm not sure how much this will help, but I thought I would get up early and get a good workout done before work. I found out that I would get up and turn the TV on and then sit and watch until my usual wake-up time. I discovered through trial and error that my best workout time was after work, not before. Sometimes I think it just takes a little while to find out what works best for each person. I also didn't ache as much when exercising in the late afternoon because my muscles had warmed up by then. Good luck finding what works for you!

Another thing I just wanted to point out to help you keep going is that you have lost a TON of weight in a very short amount of time, which means that your body is definitely responding to the program. Don't lose hope now, because you are doing so well, and are an inspiration to me! Don't even think about what you've done, just move on, and as we all like to say here, tomorrow's a new day!
Loves,
Jenn
P.S. I'm going to do my walking tape RIGHT NOW thanks to you!

Always keep this in mind......you don't need a lot of motivation to get your groove going again with exercise. All you need to do is start moving...motivation will kick itself in and then you don't want to stop. That's happen to me EVERY time I've let other distractions get in my way. For me, when distractions come, stress comes, overeating comes, lack of motivation comes, sadness comes......but once I start moving....it's on. That's happening right now with me. Although I am a morning person, mornings are not always convenient for me like yesterday. I ended up exercising 9pm. Very, very, late for me to exercise. Heck, I'm usually getting ready for bed during that time. Exercising on nontraditional (non am) times will be a challenge for me but I want to continue looking and feeling good so for that reason, I'm committed to keeping it up. As I told someone before, if I don't master the eating right totally, I'm going to master something..that something is exercise! You are living proof as well that moving makes you get out of a slump. Stay out of the slump Nicole! I plan to do that as well. Terry

Good for you for getting moving!!! It's a surefire way to chase away the doldrums.
Never underestimate the power of sending positive messages to yourself. Wake each morning telling yourself enthusiastically that you *CAN* do it, and your body and mind will respond by saying, "You're right! We can!"
