...and I've survived my first weekend on JC. It was extremely tough as my boyfriend made special (surprise) plans for a new Italian restaurant for us. I perservered though (I think... ) because when he realized what I was doing, he explained what he did. So, as I knew we were going out for dinner on Saturday, I had my JC breakfast and lunch, sans snacks and had dinner at the restaurant (shrimp w/angel hair pasta).
I know that one of the big things here are calories, so I didn't want to overdo it with them on Sat. I didn't have dessert at the restaurant (and I can't even begin to tell you how hard that decision was), so I think I did pretty well calorie-wise for the day. Next big test is next week, as it's my birthday. That's when you've got family popping out of the woodwork with cakes, pies, and all sorts of birthday-goodness.
I've got my first weigh-in tomorrow, so I'm scared witless. I'm hoping the damage is minimal. I've been socking in the water and did a bit more excercise than I normally do and I watched the salt and portion size for the remainder of the weekend, so.... Wish me luck guys. I'm so going to need it.
Hope you all had a plesant weekend. I'll see you all tomorrow (hopefully sans tears).

Good luck!
That's great that you passed dessert, often people let first week cravings get the best of them, so if you can do that, you can go all the way!

It sounds like you did fine. As you progress on the program, you'll learn more and more about good choices. You should be very proud you stuck to your guns. As for your birthday, is it possible to ask friends and relatives NOT to shower you with food? If they don't know you are on the program and you don't want to tell them, just say something generic like, "I'm trying to cut back on sugar and fat" or something like that.
Try not to be so nervous. This is a learning process. No one is perfect, and we all make mistakes from time to time. The test of whether or not this week was successful is NOT in what the scale says but in the fact that you met some very difficult challenges and came out on top.
