Has anyone purchased or is anyone using the exercise bands? If so, how do you like them? I need to do some kind of strength training...I think...and I was thinking of starting out with the bands. I used them when I was doing P.T. after a car accident and the P.T. really recommended them. What do you think?

If you're talking about the Tri-cord bands, go for it. I got them a while ago and have just started really using them (ok, I'm a procrastinator, that's just part of my charm ). I'd consider them more of resistance training than strength training, but it will help strengthen muscles. Following the DVD that comes with them really helps.
Just remember to not overdo it.

They are really, really good at working the muscles and toning. There was a recent article in prevention magazine that showed that bands did the best for inches lost vs. weight lifting ...why? Mostly because people found them easy and convenient to do, so they DID them.
I know JC sells some with a video. I was thinking of getting it. I take a "Muscle up" class 2x per week now and we do use bands and I really like it (and it can be VERY, VERY challenging - my legs were burning in todays class...)...I was thinking of getting them to add a weekend resistance day along with cardio.
