I use the Omron and love it. You can put it in your pocket or clip it to your waistband. I avearge about 5,000 steps per day and hit just shy of 10,000 on the days I run/walk. Your goal should be 10,000 steps per day. I am still working up to it. I recommend using them as it is very motivational.

i'm on my 2nd SportLine pedometer. Bought it from Target - it's the model that has the 7 day memory so it runs around $18. I loved the first one, this 2nd one is flaky. Maybe it needs a new battery??

I use the accusplit eagle. Measures step, distance, calories, time, pace. Memory for 1 week to compare last week. I LOVE IT!
I do a minimum of 10,000 steps a day; not including workouts. (I also live in NYC which makes walking a bit easier.)
Truly motivational. Before I got ped I thought I was walking more than I did. This tells it like it is.
