If anyone is looking for a new and fun workout to try, you should try Turbo Jam. It is like some martial arts combined with dance moves. It is fast paced, and set to great music. The DVD times range from 15 minutes to about 60 minutes. They are so much fun, and go by super-fast. I have never looked at the clock waiting for the workout to be over. Plus, it does give results. If anyone else has tried this workout, please let me know.

I love, love, love turbo jam!! I have every one of the workouts except for the live ones. That Total Body Blast workout with the ball is an a$$ kicker! I alternate them with Gilad's step and tone step aerobics with hand weights. Awesome job on your weight loss too - keep up the good work!

Thanks for the reply!! I just love the tapes, too! I don't have the ball ones, so now I am going to get them. I just love how quickly the workouts fly by. They are definitely for anyone who does not like conventional exercise because they are so much fun! You seem to have done really well on JC! I hope to be as successful as you in the upcoming months. Take care!

Christina - just wanted to let you know I saw one of the ball workouts on Ebay for really cheap like $2 or $3. Try looking there first!

I've been seeing the informercials and am interested. How is it at sculpting and toning the arms? I hate lifting weights, but I thought the gloves looked like they might be for me. Thanks!

Hi! I actually just finished a Turbo Jam workout before I came to the message boards. I absolutely LOVE Turbo Jam. I want to get the ball workout as well. As for toning, the gloves are harder than I thought they would be. The introductory set of DVDs includes a toning workout which is pretty good, and then the next series has the 3T workout which incorporates bands instead of conventional weights, although you can use the weights if you dont have the bands. That workout is great as well. I actually look forward to my Turbo Jam time.

I just wanted to update that I did end up getting the Turbo Jam workouts (from the infomercial) back in late October and have been doing it ever since. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!! My staying on the JC program has faltered, so I haven't seen much in weight loss, but Turbo Jam has done amazing things to the way my body looks. Plus it's fun. I needed something that was time effective and did it all--cardio, abs, toning, and that's what it is. I'm off to do it now. Anyway, I wanted to report back my experience.

OMG you guys, I LOVE Turbo Jam too! I hate to exercise, and Turbo Jam makes it actually fun. I have all the DVDs so I won't grow out of it too quickly. Also, being considerably out of shape, I am not even using the gloves yet, and it still kicks my butt! Those gloves will come in handy if I hit a plateau or anything with the JC program, although I don't see that happening any time in the near future - because JC rocks too!
Good luck everyone!

I just bought the DVD's and have only tried it once. I did the "learn and burn" and had a tough time. I feel like I have no coordination. The funny thing is that even though I couldn't keep up, I was sore the next day. Not horribly sore...I could just feel some muscles that haven't been used in a while. I plan to keep trying is and hopefully over time I can catch on.

kmgrph115 I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the third time you do it. I was flopping around like a fish out of water the first time I tried it... but it's encouraging how fast you can pick it up with a little more practice. Good luck with it - hope you end up liking it!

I also purchased Turbo Jam from the infomercials and after it finally arrived (2 weeks later) I have found that I love it! I have not used the weight gloves yet, I actually forgot about them. Hmm... I will try them tomorrow.
Going back to JC this Tuesday, so hopefully the combination of TJ & JC this weight will be coming off!

Golferchick - let me know how you do with these dvd's. I just got them too, but I've only tried them once. Keep me updated as to how you do.

kmgrph115, I feel totally uncoordinated with Turbo Jam too. I've tried it a few times and never did get past Learn & Burn, so now it's collecting dust. I suppose I should dust it off and try it again. Everyone seems to love it but me!

I love Turbo Jam! I actually bought it because of this thread! I've done Learn and Burn twice now and I just think it is great. The hardest part for me is remembering to keep your pelvic tucked under. I can't wait to progress onto the next video! I looked at the DVD's on Amazon and found that it would be cheaper to just buy the whole package that comes with everything. This DVD is great, I love her energy and I love the moves.

I have a TON of Turbo Jam dvds! I just started to add them back into my routine since I've lost 16.5 pounds, I figured it was time to step it up a bit. I did the 20 minute and the Ab Jam on Monday and it KILLED my abs! But in a GOOD way.

I purchased the 5-DVD set on Ebay today. I am anxious to get started! I get bored every few months with my routine, so ready to take this on! I heard the main gal (wish I remembered her name) being interviewed on the radio today, and the talk show host said she doesn't always like to do it, but she sees that it really works for her. She has been doing it for a while. I was sold! I think there is a brand new set of DVDs out, or just one maybe, which explains the interview. I would love to know who is doing this these days!

How has everyone been doing on this? I have the set too and just ordered the one with the hand weights although I didn't get the handweights because I figured I could use my 1# regular weights but it it a little awkward. also, this dvd gets you moving fast. I tried it once but I think I need to do it again without the weights so I can get the moves down, it does take a while... I get bored too and have so many different dvds and never know which ones are the right ones to use for losing the fat, I guess as long as I'm moving right. I'm thinking of getting the 3day melt off too... anyone have or seen that one?

Hi Mammabear...I don't have the 3 day melt off but I know what you mean about getting bored...I am back on JC after a bit of a rest (and weight gain

) and I am starting to work in workouts around my crazy busy schedule. I do know that having different tapes that do different things has helped me...the last time I did JC I start with the walk fit tapes and that kicked started everything

After doing the 1, 2 and the 3 mile tapes I started to do Tae Bo with the weighted bar...WOW!!! That was an awesome workout!....it has like six different work outs I think and I NEVER got bored....
I have the Turbo Jam ones too...I only used it once so far but I am looking forward to it being one of my new favs.
I also have (for people short on time...like me) the 10 minute trainer tapes...Tony Horton does the P90 and P90X. Well the 10 minute trainer has several workouts that are only 10 minutes...now I thought this was crazy and no way could you get a good workout in 10 minute...boy was I WRONG...these tapes are amazing...I sweated more with those tapes than with any other lol....and you can add resistance and weights and up the workouts when you are ready.
The other great workout that is also relaxing...Yoga...awesome stuff...I like it better than pilates (but those are good too)
Well I hope this helps a bit...let me know what other work outs you like to do....I need to get jumped started with working out again...Next is to find a work out buddy to be accountable to one here

GOOD LUCK

Hi Andrea,
I spent so much time on thinkinig about the TMT, I always use the time excuse not to work out so I finally ordered it and did a workout, boy does it kick your but. THEN, I sat there looking at all my other workouts and thought, why am I paying all this money when I have already good workouts that I need to just DO! I sent it back, I need to just do them. I really see a difference in my body when I use the leslie sansone walk videos, but her chatting gets to me. I like turbo jam a lot, but sometime I wonder if they work for me. I really need to do them consistantly (duh) to see the results. I also have hip hop abs, those are fun. So I pretty much have a different gamot that I can use, if I just use them..I really need to lay off the snacks too!
I've been using a weight resistance program too, just 2 sets of 10 with a 5 pound weight every other day. I think that's important and I want the strenght back in my legs.
happy halloween, and Happy working out

I too, have a dusty copy of Turbo Jam sitting around.

I felt really uncoordinated when doing the Learn & Burn - but after reading some of these posts I am tempted to give it another shot! You all are very inspiring

Keep up the good work!

I lovelovelove Turbo Jam! I never really watched the Learn & Burn video because I could never do the tuck & that got me too aggravated to finish watching it.
The first workout that I did was Fat Burner & it took me a few times to actually finally get some of the moves done right. & I love to two Turbos; they're so much fun.
I work out to Turbo Jam about an hour a day with Cardio Party & finish it off with the 20 minutes work out. Really great!
