Due to my schedule and daily life, I have been doing my workouts around 4:30 in the afternoon.
This works great until I get home...then I am sooooo hungry that I eat everything in sight.
Any tips on what I could or should do to help curb this behavior? Maybe some kind of protein bar right before a workout etc.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Kym…I know how you feel. I usually work out around 4:30 too. I drink a lot of water during my workouts, but I can hear my tummy grumbling sometimes! I usually have a 1 oz piece of cheese – I call it my cheesy snack – while I walk home. When I get home I start preparing my veggies for dinner, and usually eat around 7:00. The cheesy snack really holds me until I can get dinner ready.

AndreaN,
Thanks for the the info. I will have to try that. I also talked to my counselor today and she suggested that I eat my anytime bar right after exercising with some water. She said that should hold me over until I fix dinner.
I guess I will also need to keep more veggie stix around for that time of day.

I think there are a few important things to take into consideration here. What time are you eating your afternoon snack? What calorie level are you eating? How long have you been on the program?
I work out with my trainer at 4:30 too. I'm a teacher so I have to eat lunch at 11:50. At the end of the school day (around 3pm) I eat my afternoon snack, even if I don't want it a that point. This way, I'm not working out on a full stomach and it's only been 1 1/2hrs since I last ate. I start making dinner as soon as I get home. On weekends, I usually make a fruit smoothie to hold me over through the afternoon. You can get most (or all) of your fruit servings in and if you use frozen fruit it's especially creamy and cold and filling.
