I was re-reading parts of the Body for Life (for Women edition by Dr.Pamela Peeke) and I found something I did not remember.
In chapter 10 (pg77) she is addressing the issue of Stress and overeating. One of the tools is as follows:
there is a full page that says in big letters
" Stop: The answer is not here!"
You are to photocopy this page ( I printed one off on my computer) and tape it to your refrigerator, pantry door, snack drawer anywhere where food beckons...
There is a second page that reads:
" The answer is here"
This you print off(photocopy) and tape to your treadmill, workout/gym bag, bath salts etc. anywhere that helps you to remember to be good to yourself and practise some self care.
I have posted these pages in the pantry, on the fridge.... and on my workout bike, and on the door leading to the basement (workout area), beside the gym schedule and over my running shoes at the back door.
It's sounds silly but a little visual que is very motivating for me!
Just thought I would pass that on....dust off those printers and get yourself motivated!
BTW I have always liked the body for life books, they are very like the JC program, promoting daily exercise and portion controlled eating, from all food groups etc.
Something good to re-read if you pick it up at library etc.
cheers,
Carol
