Wow, I just finished the 3 mile walk for the first time in YEARS. I've been doing the 1 and 2 mile walks for the last few weeks, and for some reason got ambitious and put the 3 mile DVD in the player today. I told myself I'd stop at 2 miles if I needed to ... but before I knew it, 3 miles was over! I'm not sure I'd want to do it every day, but it felt good to know I COULD actually finish it! Maybe my goal will be once a week for the next few weeks. I have some unexpected time off from work so I'm trying to take advantage of it, because once I get back to school and work, I know I'll not have this much ambition!
Does anyone have the 1-3 mile workouts AND the Jenny Craig versions? Are they different enough to warrant buying? Just curious.
Hope everyone is having a great day!
Trix
Hi there,
First, congratulations on completing the 3 mile walk! You can approach the 4 miles walk the same way, you can always stop before the end of the workout, you can pace yourself through it and you'll see that you can make it to the end. It's great, you're making a lot of progress!
I own most of Leslie's walking videos and the JC ones do not have a "3 miles" walk.
They have one with 10 min. walks on it (she mentions it in one of the other JC videos but I've never seen it (my center doesn't carry that one), then the "Strenght walk" (which I have) which is 1.5 miles in 20 min. and they use Leslie's weighed balls (or small hand held weights) PLUS another 20 min. of strenght training after the walk, and there's the brisk walk (I also have that one), which is 2 miles done in 30 min and there is a yoga stretch segment after the walk. That 2 mile video feels faster than some of the other 2 miles videos that I have of Leslie's. It's a good challenge
They are basically like WATP's plus extra strenght training or Yoga segements added on. I think that variety is key, using muscles in various ways and various angles helps to work the entire body in the end.
The JC ones are well done and the music is nice. I'm glad I bought them

Can't say enough good things about Leslie Sansone. If it weren't for her videos I probably would have stopped excercising long ago. She's safe and effective.

Count me in the leslie fan club! I owned her VHRS(yah yah I know I am old!!) and had forgotten how much help they were to me way back when I was getting back in shape after my youngest was born....she's almost 17!
I was delighted to see her dvds when I jopined jc last may. I started with the basic jc dvds and I also owned her WATP book which had the one mile version. I kept at this 3 times a week through may and june. By july I was looking for more so I hit the stores to buy some of her others. Over Thanksgiving my oldest daughterr started doing them with me when she was home and over Christmas the youngest joined us.I got some newer ones this past weekend at sam's club. A 2 dvd set for 17 .00 This set is walk/jog and walk kick. I have her newest 5 mile on order from collage.com.
I can't say enough good things about her tapes! Its easy I can do at home and pretty much anytime I need and my body has changed dramatically. I was a tight 18 am now an 8. size 1 x top am now a Med! I feel better than I have in forever and have an amazing amount of energy!
If you are new to excercise, give this a try!!

I have two sets:
* 1, 2, and 3-mile "WATP" and
* 1, 2, and 3-mile "WATP for Abs"
The waist-pully thing that came with the Abs set broke after just a few times, so I use the 2-lb. soft balls that came with the original set with both. I also have 3.5 lb soft ball weights that came with a Denise Austin tape when I want some extra oomph.
Haven't tried the ones in the JC center. Mixing and matching these two 3-set sets gives me all the walking workouts I need.

I just finished Leslie's new 5 mile walk and I really like it.
The first mile is a fast paced walk with 2 lb hand weights...the 2nd mile is a 10 minute mile with some light jogging...the 3rd mile she uses the toning belt...the 4th mile is a 12 minute mile with all of her normal moves and same with the 5th mile but she adds her stretchy band.
Then there is a few minute cool down. I was a little concerned about the jogging when I saw it...but I found that I liked the fast pace of the 2nd mile the best.
I also started doing Bob Harpers Biggest Loser strength and toning before I do cardio..I like his personaility, he is funny and he isnt too harsh. His strength and toning section is 20 mintues of arm and leg toning.

Leslie Sansone is wonderful and easy to use and have fun. I was thankful when Jenny Craig started to use her.Years ago they did a set of video's ,beginners workout,total body toning and low-impact aerobics. I took them out the other day tried the beginners tape and couldn't do it. I forgoten how hard those tapes were to follow for most people.
I trade off with Walk your way (Brisk) and (Strength)when I'm being good about excerise.

Howdy Ya'll, I have found that Leslies tapes are the easiest fit for a busy lifestyle. I started with the easy walk and now go through it twice a day, cause I can do 10 mins at a time. Also got the brisk walk but the first couple of times it killed my knee. I have started it again but only doing the first mile and moving slowly into the second. Wish me luck. Also bought a pedometer which is like a kick in the tail on lazy days. What do ya'll think about the strength tape? I think I will get it in a couple of weeks. Maybe. Off subject, How safe is personal info when buying from amazon? I am terrified of identy theft!

Good weighin today down 2 lbs and 3.5 inches. But best part is I seem to have broken my up and down pattern. Have been down the last three weeks. I didnt get the strength tape yet. Nxt week is going to be a crazy busy week so the 10 min each tape will probably be my best bet. Maybe nxt wi.

I bought Leslies tapes a couple of years ago but never did them. Up until a week and a half ago I was doing step aerobics and jogging. Then I hurt myself at work, lower back strain, numbness in my leg, etc. It's driving me nuts not exercising, so I pulled out her 2 mile walk. I feel like I accomplished my exercise goal for the day. I really enjoyed it. I'll have to try the 4 mile walk tomorrow. Glad I read this thread earlier.
