Does anyone have a good workout for the love handles? Are sit ups the only way?

You can't reduce the fat in an area by exercising it. You can, however, strengthen and build the underlying muscle.
Your best bet for this area is lower back exercises AND abdominal exercises. You want to be sure and include some that hit the obliques -- the muscles that run from the side of your ribcage to your hip. You can learn about specific exercises at this great site:

I posted information about this DVD workout before, but I noticed a change in my love handles with the CoreSecrets workout. Sit-ups with weights really help to increase muscle in the areas we all seem to need in those areas. Varying the types of situps you do to hit all of the core areas will also strengthen love-handles making them smaller.
Good luck!

Sorry I forgot! Cardio along with your situps also helps! Don't forget the cardio!

Try a reverse curl with a weight on the lower part of the ab
Also try doing crunches using the balls, again with a light weight on the stomach. I do a 5 pound weight on my lower stomach, 3 sets of 10 regualr and 3 sets to right and 3 sets to left so Im working on the lower abs, and the obliques (love handle area) thats how my trainer told me to do it. try and and let me know
