My hubby came home from the doctor yesterday and was a bit upset. She told him that on top of his high blood pressure and cholesterol he is now borderline diabetic. I have been doing Jenny now for a few months and have lost nicely. The program is so easy, however, I am having a hard time convincing him to give it a try. He is around 325lbs and I was wondering if any of you guys were around the same size when you started. How many calories would he start on and how much more food than me would he get. He said to me the other day I can't eat that little amount of food. So I want to be able to tell him approximately how much he would be getting. I really love my husband and would like to grow old with him. Any help would be wonderful!!!Thanks in advance.

I started June 19th 2005 weighed in at 281.2 not quite as heavy as the 325 you said your husband is at. But I have been close to that weight myself.Lots of yo yo dieting and trying this and that, but I have never been able to completely shed the weight.I weighed in last Saturday which was the end of my 3rd week and I have lost 15.7 lbs. That is very good as I am on a 2000 calorie diet and yes I do at times find myself hungry but not to the point that I feel deprived. The first couple of weeks were the hardest as it takes a few weeks for your stomach to shrink. I still have occasional hunger pains nothing severe, I just drink more water or nibble on veggies. I just started this Sunday with my cardiovascular program where I do 30 minutes on an EFX elliptical machine at my gym.... and man can I tell a difference between my first day and today. Definitely is helping and its only 30 minutes I'm spending as I gotta ease myself back in. I weigh in tomorrow morning and begin week 5 on Sunday. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

My husband joined JC about 2-3 months after I did. He saw how easy the program was and how successful I was doing and decided he would do it too. He didn't have as much to lose as your husband but he quickly caught up with and passed my weight loss. I lost about 47 lbs and he lost over 65 pounds.
The funny thing is, he wasn't even considering health issues when he started - he just wanted to look better. But, his cholesterol went down and his high blood pressure became normal. So you can tell your husband that it really works.

I am starting again... at 343! I do not have the same co-morbidities, but I do have a CPAP, hypercholesterolemia, creaking knees, sore back... blah blah blah.
Everyone is different, but I am on 2300 calories to start. Basically, I get to add two sandwiches a day, in addition to the 2000 calorie menu.... I generally feel full all day, and do not wake up particularly hungry either!
I have asked my program director to fax my documentation to my physician on a monthly bases. In this manner, my physician is kept informed of my progress.
I hope your hubby decides to join up. The program really does work, but do not be discouraged if he starts loosing faster than you do. My wife still gives me grief over that one!
