I have had a year long struggle with Post Hysterectomy complications, and put on 40lbs because any activity I am in so much pain. I am fed up with docs and testing. I'm psyched I made the commitment to JC, and I just this week got myself back into water aerobics, I just have to mentally push myself through the pain.
Although I feel encouraged that I have lost close to 8lbs in 7 weeks, I feel it a battle for me because of lack of exercise, Medication I am on (hormones out of whack), and somedays this knife twisting pain just knocks me down.
Just venting away here....

Hi...I'm really sorry to hear of your troubles. I'm in the "over 40" group--may I ask is your pain you talk about still hysterectomy related? Just asking because I got the big "H" talk from my gyno just last week and need to decide...I was told I just need the uterus removed but can leave the ovaries so wouldn't need hormone treatment, but I'm still leary...would you do it again if you had a choice?

Im really sorry that you are having all these complications. I am now 47 and had my hyterectomy when i was 32. I swear it was one of the best days of my life. We had our 2 children with no intention of having more. I then had my ovaries out a few years later. I was on estrogen until 2 years ago when i took myself off of them. I have never felt better...I dont think my weight has anything to do with the surgeries. I am a stress eater and am trying to deal with that.
Anyway..i hope you the best...

Don't let the scale be your only guide for success. Take your measurements, track your eating, drink water, keep moving and acknowledge the changes you are making. If you are exercising you are building up your muscle mass and muscles store glycogen (water and glucose). Your body is adjusting to the diet and over time your progress will show up again on the scale.

heart4adventure, I am so proud of you for making the JC journey work for you...I hope the pain starts to go away for you soon...I also live with pain, but not from surgery...neck and lower back pain...migraines don't help either, but I take my Relpax and everything is back to normal...What ever normal is...Keep pushing along you will make it happen...
LadyLynda, I am also on the road to success and it has to be with JC, lately I have been having snack attacks...re-focus...Yes I am refocused
Patts39, I know how it feels when you have tiny drops...it is still in the right direction...trust that you are getting smaller in other areas...have you tried on any clothes from your closet?
Snooda, Just wanted to say hi...hope you enjoy the JC journey...
Cynthia Jo, Glad you joined JC and have made a committment to being healthier and happier...Enjoy the JC journey...
Thanks, one-of-a-kind

I have tried clothes on and they do feel looser and people tell me that they can tell that I am losing...I think that I am just expecting to much of myself, But I know that I can do more exercise then just expecting the weight to fall off with eating less. Thanks for all the encouragment.

Amazing what pictures can do for motivation, I honestly have never had a weight problem nor ever been a dieter, and although I know I have gained 40 lbs this past year and pant size has gone up 2-3 sizes and I hate my body, I still feel like a thin person. Well I just saw pics of me from a 40th party I went to and let me tell you I look disgusting, I was horrified!! Nothing like a picture worth a 1000 words to motivate!!

Patts39, You can do this...How about adding a 10min walk out the front door of your house and turn around...thats a 20min walk...Just increase the walk each week by 5mins...And before you know it you are walking your way thin...
heart4adventure, I am so sorry that you have gained 40.lbs in one year...You can return to your slim body before you know it...It will take a bit of time so be gentle with yourself...Tiny baby steps work...Don't overwhelm yourself with the big picture...baby steps lead to big returns...We are all on the same journey...
