I have had it before and I really enjoyed it. I am glad that it is making a Fall appearance. It is especially good when you add a heated apple for a base and dash of cool whip on top. Again, it is a nice treat for the Fall.

My center hasn't advertised it yet, but last night at my WI I asked about it (after reading about it on the message boards) and they had it already so they let me buy it. I got 2. Should have gotten more. It was soooo good. Definitely does not taste like "diet" food. If you like regular apple crisp, you'll love it. The portion is pretty small but darn was it ever YUMMY. I'm stocking up!

I got the apple crisp this week with my order, and it is YUMMY!!!!!! The new chicken is out at my center, also. I didn't get it this week, but I may try it next week.

dang that sounds yummy...I haven't seen it yet but will ask my center. Although I'm a chocolate person (my hubby agrees that JC brownies are the BOMB) apple crisp sounds darn good too! As does BBQ chicken!

I just got both the new chicken and the apple crisp this week. Apple Crisp has been a favorite dessert of mine since I was a kid. (I used to have my grandmother make that instead of cake). I haven't tried it yet but, I can't wait.

My consult day isn't until Friday BUT I called them today (yes...open on Labor Day!). They got the apple crisp in on Sat and expect the cookout chicken tomorrow I've already put both on my Week 7 menu! I'm a total BBQ bean fan so looking forward to the chicken entree.

I'm planning on saving one of my fruits so I can add apple - just buying those granny smith slices, chopping them up and throwing them in the microwave with a little splenda and cinnamon - volumizing!

I just had the apple crisp yesterday afternoon with a cup of coffee. It is fantastic! I ate it slowly to make it last. A big thumbs up

I peeled and diced a granny smith, microwaved it with cinnamon and about 1 tablespoon of water for approx. 3 minutes, then added it to the warmed apple crisp. It more than doubled the size of this yummy dessert. This will be a twice a week dessert!

I'm eating it right now. I diced up an apple and microwaved it for 3 mins as suggested, added the apple crips and FF cool whip - WOW!!! Wonderful!

I didn't microwave mine at all... I just ate it frozen right out of the package. It helped me to eat it a little more slowly. If it was warm I probably would have embarrassed myself eating it too fast...
So delicious!
And the Cookout Chicken is good, too. Two more to add to my repertoir!

Is anyone else having a problem with thier center stocking this item? My center has been sold out 2 out of the last 3 weeks when I have tried to order my food. Same thing with the chicken sandwich and beef sirloin rice bowl. Is it just my center or is this a nation wide apple crisp crisis? lol

I ordered it last week and I only nuked it long enough to take the chill off but OMG was it FABULOUS. I only got one. I hope my center is stocked up because I want to get LOTS more. Who needs anything else...except the double choc cheesecake, which I hear is coming soon!!

I was looking forward to this one, but sadly I did not enjoy it
It was way too cinnamony for me. I think part of the problem is that my mom makes the best apple crisp and that's what I measure all others against. Isn't it funny how we do that?

I am so mad!!! The apple crisp has now been taken away. It was available for 2 weeks at my centre and that was it!! When they say it is temporary, they mean it. If you ask me that is bulls''t that it is gone already. they don't have enough new things and keep taking away things. what is with that???

Yes it's true, I just got back from my weigh in, and I found out that the Apple Crisp is being dicontinued. Already.

That is so lame and without any notice? I bought some a couple of weeks ago and no one said anything. I dont get it and they need more lunches. After they took away the Thia grass I was so upset. What the heck??/ Jenny? Get with it will ya?

When I asked if there were any new foods--I had my weigh in on Wednesday--my consultant said 'no, just the apple crisp and cookout chicken'. I'd purchased mine a couple weeks ago and haven't tried them yet.
She didn't say anything about the dessert being discontinued. We aren't out of these two items yet at my center.

Sep 22 2007, 09:17 AM
This was a temporary item. For those of you who can get a food order sheet from your center, you can see they put a "t" next to any new item that will be temporary. That means they will get only one or maybe two shipments of that item and then that's it. The cookout chicken doesn't have the "t". So that one should be around for a while.

If you have an Albertson's near you.... this week mine has 100 calorie Mrs. Smith's apple crisp on sale. It is sold in a 2 pack and they are on sale this week 3 for $5.
I will race you to them since the JC ones are temporary.

Sep 23 2007, 04:32 PM
am bummed out that this is just about gone from the center I go to. It seems like a "fall" item and I thought it would at least be around until halloween, it is still 90 degrees here so I wish they would hang on to this one longer. If anyone participates in market day with their school the berry breakfast bowl is a similar item with blueberries, apples and cherries, it has 200 calories vs the 160 in jc it is a larger portion though.

If you can still get the apple crip, or even try the Mrs. Smith's version:
Blueberry-Apple Cobbler
If you haven't had all your fruit for the day, try this. Pour one cup of frozen blueberries into a microwave-safe bowl and add just a bit of water. Cook in microwave till berries are heated through (about 2 minutes). Drain. Cook JC apple cobbler as directed. Mix with blueberries. Top with SF Cool Whip. Delicious!!!!

I think the apple crisp was the best snack/dessert they have ever had. Please, please bring it back as a permanent item.

I agree about bringing it back! I loved it and I actually ate the snack. I am not so good at that. If I go off program that is the first thing I cut out to attempt not to go over my calorie count.
Great to know about the Mrs. Smith one

I agree, bring back the Apple Crisp as a permanent item! I loved it and I'm still mourning its loss. I used to love having it with a little scoop of FF frozen yogurt drizzled with just a touch of caramel syrup. Then a small shot of FF whipped cream and it was SHEER HEAVEN.
I know I am not alone - If enough of us complain maybe they'll listen. After all, they brought back the BBQ Chicken Pizza, right?
I was standing at the front desk at my JC center the other day and the woman next to me was mourning the loss of the Apple Crisp aloud - Both of us started in unison to complain - I know there must be a lot of us out there so let's keep speaking up about it and perhaps they'll do something! It was my absolute favorite dessert! Not everything in life is about chocolate!!

I'm mourning the loss of the apple crisp too. I would cut 2 apples up and bake them in the microwave with pumpkin pie spices and then put the apple crisp on top. It was like having a huge helping of apple cobbler and I LOVED IT. I agree...it aint all about chocalate. I got the triple choc cheesecake and it was TOO much choc for me. Would've loved the apple crisp instead. If anyone finds a great substitute to make on our own let me know because I love me some apple pie.

I know. I'm bummed too. I loved this dessert. I understand it being an autumn food, but it's still fall for me!
