How can you get the thin piece of meat on the sunrise sandwich to come off w/o a fight? Also, has anyone else had problems with the sunrise sandwiches having lots of frost on them? Thank You.

FlyKites,
I had this problem when I first started Jenny, what I do now is I pop the muffin side that has the meat on it, put it in the microwave for a few seconds, it loosens it just enough so you don't pull the meat off in pieces!!
Alshim
Yep I do the same as Flykites- put the egg with the meat with the egg in the micro for a few seconds.
Love the Sunshine Sand!

i separate the egg portion and slide a butter knife under the meat and it pops off. i then toast my muffin and cook the egg and meat in microwave. i take the meat off after the first 60 secs or it can get a little hard.

I can't bring myself to order this item.
"Sunrise Sandwich" sounds too much like "Sunrise Smooth" and makes me think of Metamucil.

it's like an egg mcMuffin. I really like it. You should try it!

I just leave the meat stuck to the muffin. I heat the egg part for one minute, then put the muffin (with the stuck-on frozen meat) in the micro with the egg for another minute and it's just fine. Also, try putting the muffin in the toaster oven and adding a slice of low-fat cheddar (if you have a meat exchange needed for the day)....yum!

I make my Sunshine sandwich at work, so the time it takes me to get from home to work is enough time to thaw the meat from the bread.

i microwave the side of the muffin with the meat stuck to it for 10 seconds and the meat just slides off - then the rest per instructions. i really like the sunrise sandwich - i usually have it 4-5 times a week

a fork usually works for me.
I hate the sauce that comes with the Sunshine Sandwich...what else would be good with it? Ketchup?
lovetheriver
i also hate the sauce...i just put cracked pepper on mine

I put three slices of thick hickory smoked bacon, grilled ham, and cheddar cheese on mine. Just kidding. I use the microwave also for a few seconds and the meat comes right off.

FlyKites and everybody --
I have the best solution to the frozen-stuck-meat dilemma: Put the Sunshine Sandwich in the refridgerator the night before you are going to have it for breakfast. When you wake up in the morning, the meat will not be stuck.
Also, as far as preparing the rest of the meal, I'd recommend toasting the bread (which will be ready to be toasted after a night in the fridge). The egg patty will still need to be microwaved for about a minute. Do not cook or microwave the meat; instead, when the egg patty is heated up, just place it on top of the meat while the bread is still toasting. This will heat up the meat just right. Then when the bread is toasted, put the whole sandwich together.
Bon appetit!

I like salsa on mine.

I like to put half a slice of fat free American cheese...it's only 13 calories and tastes just like a mcmuffin...yum!

I take the sandwich out of the freezer before I take my shower, after which it all comes apart nicely. I then toast the muffins in my toaster oven, microwave the eggs for about 30 seconds, then pan fry the meat and the egg with just a bit of olive oil spray, and then add 1/2 oz of low-fat cheese (1/2 meat). It is so good.

I love it with hot sauce. I also take the top muffin off- too much bread for me.

Oooo !!! I LOVE that suggestion of spicy mustard ... and the FF cheese is another great idea. You could burn off those extra 13 calories by walking up a couple of flights of stairs. That would totally be worth it.
Soily
another vote here for putting it in fridge the night before, toasting the muffin, and dijon mustard.
rosesmile
take it out before hand and let it thaw a bit.. i had my this am, for the first time it was great just want to do the melted cheese idea. what type of cheese is only 13 calories for half piece? i noticed it needed more than just the sauce..
but i had it out from the time i left work until i ate it about 2 hours and it worked perfectly in the micro and mcmuffin's are not usually toasted so for those that say they can't nuke it well that's usually the way they are if you get them out..
so i loved it.

When cooking the Sunshine Sandwich, I ham on the bottom and egg on top when microwaving. That keeps the ham from getting overcooked. Then I toast the muffin and spread a little sugar free jam on it. Delicious. When I get tired of that, I put Pace picante sauce on it instead. Both ways are good.

I put Don Pablos salsa on the sunshine sandwich, breakfast scramble and the breakfast stuffed sandwich. This makes them great and these are my favorite breakfasts.

Hey all, I do what other's talked about and just put the meat stuck on the bun in the micro when egg is finished it's cycle, but I toast the other section of muffin and spray butter stuff on it (okay it sounds gross, but the spray goodies are becoming one of my favorite ways to enhance flavors without adding cals!...salsa or even a green chili are also tasty). Come on over to Val's Pals for more fun and frivolity! FL

I actually just wrap the whole sandwich all stuck together in a paper towel and pop it in the micro for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. You could toast the buns after if you want, but it comes out just fine this way to me.

Hi, I love my sunshine sandwich, I like the idea of toasting the bun, and also the low fat cheese, yummy.. I usually just heat up the egg and ham in the microwave for about a minute.. but taking it out the night before is also a great tip.. thanks for sharing!!!
