I just had the turkey burger for the first time and it was great....but, I prepared it per oven directions wrapped in foil, and the bun was hard as a brick. Anyone have any suggestions on the best way to prepare? I added the sauce, lettuce and tomato and it was as if I was having a meatloaf sandwich. I love this program so far.

I use the microwave. I'll cook the burger by itself for about 90 seconds, then I'll cook the bun for about 15 seconds to get it soft and then pop it in the toaster. Love the turkey burger! The only thing I cook in the oven is the fish and chips.

Toast your bun....much better. I use the microwave for my burger.

Thanks again. I'll try the micro next time. Only reason I used the oven is because I noticed that most of the posts about food said they were better when cooked in the oven. I guess I'll learn in time. Thank you again. I totally love this board. I've already learned a ton, and it's a real motivator as well.

I separate the bun and the burger. While I'm getting dinner together (always have it as dinner, not lunch), I let the bun thaw on the counter...Then I microwave the patty until its done...Then I put the burger together and microwave for about 10 seconds until its just warm.
If I've waited until the last minute, I still separate the two...I microwave the bun on defrost setting until its done and then the patty.
I top mine with mustard, lettuce and tomato - yummy!

I throw it on the barbeque when the family is having their burgers and then I toast my bun either in the toaster oven or on the bbq too.
In fact we had that tonite and I remember saying, "OMG that was so good I could eat another one!" Dh looked all shocked at me (cause I never say this anymore) and I just laughed and said, "Relax - I only bought one!" haha It just really hit the spot tonight.

I separate the burger from the bun. First I microwave the burger for a minute at 50% power. Then I put it in a pan with some Pam and kinda "fry" it a little till it gets nice and brown. When it is just about done, I wrap the bun in a paper towel and microwave it for about 22 seconds.
Yum...delicious!

Toast the bun... half cook burger in micro ... fry some onions (in PAM) throw the burger in with the cooked onions to finish.... add the barbecue sauce to the onions for the last few seconds...definitely one of my favourites...

I cook the meat in a pan with cooking spray - it gets some black spots on it which I love. I toast the bun in the toaster oven. I save the bbq sauce for my chicken sandwich and eat the burger with mustard and kechup.
