And once again JC discontinues one of my favourites. I loved being able to take this into work in the dead of winter, and loved that I could take it to go if I got called out early. It was just a perfect oatmeal, didn't need sugars or milk, had super healthy protein in it, and was very very portable.
10 months and I'm learning to not get attached to anything because all my favourites are gone. Add the 7 grain to the list

That is a bummer! I like it to and its good for traveling. At least its just oatmeal. We can make it ourselves, add a little cinnamon and some splenda. A few nuts!

I noticed last time I was cross border shopping that Kashi has an instant hot oatmeal that a quick glance looked comparable to the 7 grain cereal... I didn't really check the ingredients cause I'm not big on oatmeal in the summer... you might want to check it out....

OOOH! Thanks bunches TearingPillow3! I have a cross border grocery shop scheduled for very soon. Course that's a little less convenient than my JC weekly grocery shop, but I guess beggars can't be choosers.
Now I just need Kashi to make a pasta ole and I'd be the happiest girl on the planet

Honestly, that is no sweat off my back. I tried it once and wouldn't eat it again. But, then again, I have never been an oatmeal person--I am a (Quick) Cream of Wheat person all the way.

I like oatmeal but did not care for this one.
I think in a pinch i would stick w/ the Quaker Oats Weight Loss Cinnamin - the nutri. label seemed to be less calories, more protein, less sugar and higher fiber.

The four new cereals are Banana Nut Cereal, Cranberry Almond Cereal, Frosted Oats Cereal and Multi-Grain Hoops. Hopefully one of those will become your new favourites

I love the 7 Grain cereal! It's the ONLY hot cereal I've ever really liked, and I can eat it all the time, even in summer.
May not sound good, but it's great with fruit added to it -- such as strawberries (the best) or blueberries (also good).
I will miss this item greatly!

Hi, fellow losers(lol),
I also like the hot cereal, but not enough to get upset about it being d/c'd.
But here's a suggestion to those clients who can't live without it;
stock up!! Like Elaine did with the sponges. Buy as many as you can comfortably can and then maybe you'll be doing momo by the time it's d/c'd!
Good luck!

Talked to my consultant and she is not aware of us losing the 7-grain. Is that all centers??????
I like it for hot cereal and eat it often and I will stock up if it goes. Just hope I know far enough in advance to start stocking.
Thanks for the heads up........

For those of you who like the 7 grain cereal try Kashi GOLean Hearty All Natural Instant Hot cereal with Clusters. Honey & Cinnamon. It is very good. Much better than the 7Grain in my opinion...plus the calories are lower, sodium is lower, Fiber is higher and Total fat is lower PLUS all natural ingredients. I hope you try it and like it.

I like the 7 grain hot cereal, too. My center was not aware of it being discontinued either. I wonder what the time frame is going to be (maybe I need to stock up!).

I also like the 7 grain cereal. I thought it was so convenient the way it came.
I was looking forward to bringing those to work in the winter to keep me warm.
Oh well, what can we do?

I too love that cereal but have since found Quaker Weight Smart in Maple&Brown Sugar and Banana flavors. Nutritional wise its better but the best part is how much protein it has...stays with you right to lunch... its Great!

The Quaker Weight Control Banana Bread is a staple for me. For some reason it's not sweet enough for me so I add a splenda and a pinch of salt, but yum yum, no better way to spend 160 calories. And you're right, it's filling and satisfying!
