Ugh. This did not microwave well. I found it to be a very small meal. Maybe I'll try it again but oven bake it for crispness.

They should put a warning label on the fish & chips.... bake ONLY in the oven. It is truly bad done in the microwave, but one of my all time favs done in the oven... 15 minutes each side. It takes a little pre-planning to allow that much time when we're so used to 4 minutes. I do it for my Friday night or weekend treat. Give it another try.

I heated it in the microwave and I found it to come out well. Did you take the plastic completely off when microwaving? It's different from the other meals in that regard. It's esp good with the malt vinegar on top and a little ketchup on the side.

This is one of my favorite meals. I spray the fish and chips with olive oil spray and then bake it in the toaster oven. Comes out fantastic.

I toss the potatoes and use 2 small corn tortillas, pan saute w/pam in skillet, sprinkle w/Pollo Asado seasoning, then top w/shredded cabbage, lite sour cream, tomatoes, onion, cilantro. 'Voila! Fish Tacos!

I just ordered this for the first time. I think I'll nuke it in the microwave for a little, then finish off in toaster oven to get crisp...might reduce the time involved in cooking.

oven baked is definitly the way to go on this one, or toaster oven.

My husband is on 1700 calories, so he has a few extras on his menu. He absolutely LOVES the fish patties on a light hamburger bun (1 starch) with a slice of 2% american cheese (1 meat). He grew up with McDonald's fish filet and says this is just as good.

I microwave it, then put it under the broiler for a minute or so afterwards. Very good!

I always bake it and let it go for an extra ten minutes over the box instructions. Actually, I almost always do my dinners in the oven and then put them on a plate to make them more like a real dinner than a nuked meal. I like the idea of making fish tacos with them. I'll give that a try next time!

I had this again yesterday and opted for the McD's fish sandwich approach:
Thawed fish, heated in non-stick skillet until browned on both sides, Wonder Light bun, 1 tbsp lite mayo mixed w/lemon juice & chopped capers, 1 slice 2% American cheese, lettuce, tomato.
OMG!!! This was SOOOO good and filling! I think I may eat it this way from now on.

This is one of my favorite meals, but I agree with everyone - it HAS to be baked. Or at least some combination of microwaved and baked so that it comes out crisp.
I'm sad to see that this is the only fish item they offer (at least that I know of). I'd like to see some sort of salmon & rice microwave meal... oh well.
I hope you don't give up the fish & chips forever!!

Hello everyone,
Thanks for the tip on how to cook the fish. I have not tried it yet but when I do I will definitely cook it on the stove or in the oven.
Thanks,
Anna

Yep, has to be baked.
I tried this two nights ago. Much better baked. I'll do this again. But not enough french fries though

I think it also has to be served with something green to make it more filling. I will try to bake it. I have been nuking it and did not hate it. so maybe I will love it now

I baked it and it was geat with a big salad. I don't use the malt vinegar. But baking made it crispy and tasty. thanks

Love most of the food...
I do not like the oat breakfast bars. I noticed one post said to heat it. I just ate it like a nutri-grain bar. DUH Was I suppose to warm it? Ha Ha

I had this tonight and really enjoyed it. Because I was cooking fish for the family (that required a much higher temp), here is what I did to get mine done fast and crunchy.
After the fish for everyone else was done,
I microwaved as they said for 3 minutes (take the plastic totally off). I then placed the fish (now warm, but soggy) on a pan and then placed in the broiler for a few minutes until it crisped right up! I had a meal at the same time as everyone, but it was really good! Potatos did fine just in the microwave - I did not put them in the broiler, just the fish.

DITCH THE POTATOES??? Oh no! I miss fries so much and those 5 teeny fries with ketshup tastes delish--wouldn't have it in me to send them to the trash.

I have to say, I hate fish!! But my JC consultant convienced me to give this a try. Well, I cooked in th eoven after reading this, then covered the fish in that vinegar stuff, THEN added a tartar sauce I made using fat free micarle whip and relish. I held my nose, bit the fish and...............ate the whole thing! Now mind you I did not love it, but comming from a fish hater this is a good review

I microwaved for 3 mins then put in the oven at 400 for 20 mins (turning once) and thought the fish was really good. The potatoes were excellent and crisp.
Potatos overall have been the biggest disappointment in the food to date. I find them slimy at best.
The fish was good, once baked.

Being a fish and chips fan I hate it. I don't know why they don't have a grilled fish meal. Right now lean cuisine has an awesome salmon meal with big pieces of salmon with rice. So much better, and healthier.

Thanks for all these great suggestions. I too microwaved these the first time I tried them. What a disappointment. After reading everyone's comments I decided to give it another try. I sprayed them with I can't believe it's not butter to avoid adding extra calories, made sure I turned them during the baking process and they were wonderful. It is one of my favorite meals. I do agree with everyone else, we need more hot fish meals. One fish meal doesn't cut it.

Oh my gosh, just had this for the first time and it's soooo good. It reminds me of fried food if you bake it, I really miss fried, greasy stuff. I'm going to order 3 next week!
