I am utterly addicted to the French Toast! I eat it 6 times a week. When I first went to JC I wouldn't buy it, as I don't like eggs and for that reason never ate regular French Toast. She finally talked me into trying it once and that was it. As I said, I don't like eggs, which cuts out some of the breakfasts, nor can I stand cereal. Thank heaven they have something I love so much that I never find it monotonous. It is a great start to the day to kick it off with something so tasty and satisfying. I love planning my own menu using the online menu planner, but it still cracks them up when I order 6 FT!
Trix
We have a similar nickname on here and well, we also have the French Toast in common
YUUUUUUUMMMMMMMYYYYYY!
I love it too

Is there a story behind how you came by your name? I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours...
Trix
My dog's name is "Trixie" and I call her "Trix" all the time. She's a sweetie
Your turn! Do tell...
hopie2boys
Does the fruit that comes with it count as 1 of your daily fruits?
trixienv
To tell you the truth, I don't eat the fruit cup, but on my menu plan on the 1500 it still shows eating a fruit and milk with it, so I usually have some other fruit that I like better than raspberries.
So, Trix is your dog's name, huh? I have a Butch and a Briane. The truth about the name is that I once had a roommate who was a rather flamboyant gay man and he gave me that for a nickname. I think he thought it related to my real name, Teresa. No one actually calls me that these days, but it makes me smile when I think of it

I agree. I love the French Toast also. I put butter spray on mine with the lite syrup. YUM! It is nice to start your day with such a delicious breakfast.

Has anyone noticed the change to the French Toast? It used to be 240 calories/38 grams of carbs -- now it's 220/36 grams of carbs and the bread tastes more transparent -- Is it just me? Am I the only one who noticed?
trixienv
Cute way to describe your payment plan there! I hadn't noticed any change in the FT, but like I said, I wouldn't eat it in the beginning so maybe it had already changed. I don't buy the JC syrup unless I know I am going to be having breakfast away from home. I buy a bottle of sugar free syrup and a bottle of lite syrup and mix the two together in another container. That works well for me.... I can't take just the SF syrup by itself.

I'll have to try it this week, I go in tomorrow. I usually buy two packages of it and the syrup. I don't think it has changed here. Since I get the extra 10% off this week because of my birthday plus my 20%, I'll get all the expensive stuff! We are going out to dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but other than that I will be getting my full 7, 7, 7 and then 5 dinners so will enjoy "shopping" with the extra discount.

LMAO impatient! When I first started jc in may My husband would call me on my cell on WI days. I'd report the loss to him . I'd usually start off with well it was a $90 a lb week!. I do rewards, so the price per lb was constantly in flux. Good weeks I was kinda cheap and only had a few pricy weeks, but it always made him laugh! In the beginning it felt like it was going to take forever...but those lil weeks have a way of adding up quickly!
As for the french toast I too am addicted. I alternate between french toast and the sunshine sandwich. I have to really doctor that one up! i usually by 4 ft and 3 sandwiches. I have also added the quaker oat Weight control oatmeal in banana bread flavor to the rotation. Its very filling and i am never hungry. I buy log cabin sugar free syrup and use smart balance spray. French toast is cooked in toaster over and sunshine sandwich is bread in TO and I nuke the egg.
Anyone notice that sometimes the FT slices are BIG and others are weeney?. I figure I'm gonna be a good girl when they are bigger and have a lil leeway when they are small!
HAppy holidays, Its french toast for me today

I am planning on having JC's french toast for the first time on xmas morning while my kids eat what my husband calls dough bellys(basically fried dough and oh so yummy). Since I haven't had it yet it will seem like a special xmas morning breakfast. I still am unclear about the fruit counting as a daily serving. I did notice though that on the online menu planner it doesn't deduct a fruit the way that it adds one in when I have the 7 grain hot cereal.

The fruit that comes with the French Toast is not counted as your fruit serving.
Enjoy!

That's interesting because my consultant (I do direct) told me that counted for my fruit and all I had to do was add the milk for the breakfast. I'm excited about the FT, I just ordered it Tuesday night on the phone with her. I only ordered 1 since I'm leary about new stuff. Even though everyone on here says they love it, I can't totally rely on it. Everyone on here says they hate the potato soup and I could eat it by the potful!

Thanks for sharing the story of your nickname
"Trixie" is actually short for Beatrice apparently. But my little fur-baby is called Trixie and I call her "Trix" for short hahaha
It's spunky and happy if you ask me, so wear that nickname with a smile!
Our French Toast up here hasn't changed yet (still the old 240 cals) in Calgary. They probably have to sell off the stacks they have up here before getting some of the new lower cals batch I guess...
I just love it, it's my favorite breakfast

The only thing I noticed that seems to have changed is that there doesn't seem to be as much cinnamon as there once was. Also, I'm glad that this one comes with the little fruit cup. I don't have the fruit on the side. I dump it over top of the french toast and then pour on the syrup. Mmmm tasty!

OOPS well slap me and call me blonde! I have from day one added a fruit serving to my french toast breakfast.....it is now 220 cals. I do like it has less cinnamon.Don't like the new bread :-P The 240 cal version tasted like real WHOLE wheat bread...the 220 tastes more like th Aunt Jemima french toast which is AIR BREAD! I am going to email JC and give them my opinion! Also they changed vendors for the thai lemongrass and the chicken tastes AWFUL :-P
Good news is the breakfast scramble will appear sometime soon!

Just had my French Toast, first day OP...I think they give you that first because it tastes so great. Of course, I haven't tried anything else yet, but if it's all this good, WHY HASEN'T EVERYONE CALLED JENNY???
Impatient
I wish I knew how to "call Jenny" because I was a faithful buyer of French Toast and I too would eat it almost every morning for breakfast but that was the old 240 calorie FT which did taste like real bread ---
This new stuff tastes like air bread but it also has a "seed" like flavor to it that I detest --
I won't buy it again --

I'm sorry you dislike the "new" french toast so much, Impatient ... I personally like it about the same, (maybe even a little better!) I know that I like that it has more fiber. But I can relate to when they have changed or discontinued items in the past.
I'm not sure I believe what one poster said about it changing because of a slight change on the planned menus ... it has to be for another reason - maybe the "old" bread was no longer available? Manufacturers have to make adjustments all the time when supplies change.
The other thing I've learned about being on this program (a couple of times over the last few years!) is that once things have changed or been discontinued, no amount of complaining or feedback will cause them to change it back. This message board is such a small percentage of their client base, they really do have to make their business decisions on other factors.
I don't always like it, either ... but I've learned to adjust.
Good luck to you!

I had the new french toast this morning and was very dissapointed. I did not like the taste at all. This was one of my favorites and I do not think that I will get it again....

I just rejoined the program after being off of it for just over four years. I really don't notice a difference in the french toast, but maybe I just don't remember the old version very well since it's been so long. Either way, it's still one of my favorites.
This morning I put the french toast in the middle of my plate, poured the syrup and the berries over the french toast, surrounded it with sliced strawberries and topped it with a dallop of Cool Whip Free. Damn, that was like breakfast and dessert all in one, really yummy!!!

I had the french toast this morning and I thought it was awesome, definitely a weekend treat for me! I added a banana sliced up and some FF cool whip and I am compleltely stuffed!

The french toast keeps me on the plan. Did notice a sight change for the worse but it is still awesome. I like it plain and eat the fruit after. I also eat the jc table syrup.

I'm joining the french toast lovers club too! I have it twice a week - I microwave it first and then pop it into the toaster ; then I put activia vanilla yogurt on it(instead of syrup) and top it with container of fruit and also extra fresh berries. Out of this world- try it!!My favorite breakfast!
