What are your favorite cheaper foods, so non frozen?
I am scared of the shelf stable meals but the frozen are too expensive to eat everyday.

I like all of the soups and the chili and I get those most of the time. I have to splurge everyone once in a while and get a turkey burger. As for the dinners there's really no getting around the expensive ones for me but for dessert I've been buying the gingerbread men cookies and dividing them up so they last longer and I don't have to buy alot snacks. And for breakfast I buy stawberry bars for every day of the week. They are cheaper and just alot easier for me to eat in the morning since I'm not a breakfast person.

I have found the Morning star breakfast patties and Eggo makes mini pancakes and mini waffles. You can have 1 veggie pattie and 5 of either the pancakes or the waffles and buy your own sugar free syrup. I am also going to try to find a cereal similar to the complete cereal. Any ideas on that would be appreciated.
I think that breakfast is the least likely meal I can ***** up!

I like the Kashi Good Friends too. I've been eating it for quite some time now and it tastes much better than the JC equivalent cereal. A bit of skim (nonfat) milk and some strawberries, a splash of splenda (if the berries aren't very sweet) and yum!
I also really enjoy the Swedish Meatballs (shelf food) lunch. It's really nice with some steamed baby carrots and broccoli.

I would definately say the swedish meatballs for lunch. It's lots of ground meatballs. It kinda reminds me of Hamburger Helper's Stroganoff.

I like the rotini with meatballs, swedish meatballs, southwest chicken, bean with bacon soup, pasta fagioli, honey oat bars, chili con carne, garden veggie soup(use very hot water and let sit for at least 10min. to soften noodles), the pizzas are the cheapest frozen foods, and the soon to be discontinued veggie burger is pretty good.
