Ugh! I just had the chicken sandwich for the first time and it was horrible. The chicken came out so rubbery it was really inedible. I tossed half of it away and ate the bun. I'm wondering if that's how it is all the time or if I had a bad one. Ick. I have to go brush my teeth now.

I love the chicken sandwich. I usually put a slice of reduced fat cheese on it. I have only had it come out rubbery one time and I cooked it too long. Hope this was helpful. If you feel like it, try it again.

Oh yes, I too love the chicken Sand. It can be rubbery if over-nuked. For variety and flavor, I add some sauteed (cooking spray only) onions and mushrooms with the JC Shitake mushroom marinade blended in. It's excellent!!
Perhaps you'll give it another try

I also like the chicken sandwich once in a while. Here's what I do with it. If you have access to a stove, brown it in a non- stick pan that is sprayed with Pam or if you have a "george forman grill", heat it up in there. I then toast the bun and add a slice of onion and tomato.
Hope this helps.

I didn't know you could add things like fat free cheese to Jenny's foods. How do you count this in your day?

I use the 25 cal per slice "Smart Beat" cheese, so it can be counted as one of your limited food items for the day.

Lisa,
You can count reduced fat cheese as one (of the two) of you daily milk exchanges. I'm not a milk/yogurt person and my counselor said it's ok to subsititute as long as you know it's low or reduced-fat cheese.
Say cheese!

Thanks Shannon2 and slimgirl. I don't think I've ever dipped into the "extras" yet. Forgot all about them. I will now!

Thanks to everyone for your input. I think I might've nuked it too long. Next week I'll get it again. I like the idea of putting it in a nonstick pan and cooking it that way. In the past, I've cooked costco frozen chicken breasts that way and they come out great. Thanks again!!

Sometimes I take the Chix sand and cut it up and put it on lettuce. Ditch the packet of dressing.
cut up the bun and you have croutons!

The chicken sandwich is sometimes a bit gristle-y, and that creeps me out. But when I do eat it I always toast it.
Adding some low-fat cheese sounds like a great idea.

Someone mentioned using the George Foreman grill on the chicken...does it need to be thawed or can it be frozen?

I would microwave it just for a few minutes before I put it on the grill. I microwave mine for about 20 seconds and then cut it up into pieces and fry it in Pam with onions and put a little bbq sauce and mix it all up. then I put pickles on it and it is delish! all the sauce and and pickles kills the taste of the chicken...perfect.. hope that helps you a little..
