I got the 3 new entrees the day they came out (2/1) and I'll tell you DON'T BOTHER getting the Southwest Chicken! It is really dry, the beans are hard and explode when microwaved and it has a strange lemony-perfumey taste. It's horrible, and I'm not a picky eater. I can usually choke down just about anything. The Thai Lemongrass Chicken w/noodles is great. Haven't tried the other one yet. I'll let ya know!

Funny, I didn’t care for the Thai Lemongrass Chicken. I even added some hot oil to see if that would help but I still wasn’t impressed.
The only other thing I’ve tried is the Garden Vegetable Soup. I didn’t think it was as good as the one they had before but may not have added enough hot water. I’ll give it a second try.

It's all a matter of personal taste. I just finished the southwestern chicken and LOVED IT. It's probably the best shelf staple I have eaten so far. But, again, it's all personal.

Was your Southwestern Style Chicken dry? I thought the taste was okay but couldn’t believe how dry it was. Absolutely no sauce what so ever.
My impression of the new food is not very good. I can’t believe that they’re getting rid of the Mesquite Chicken and replacing it with food I don’t like. The counselors at my center can’t believe it either cause the Mesquite Chicken is a big seller.
I didn’t care for the Chicken Strips with Rice. The chicken and rice was kind of bland and I hated the peas.
I thought the Thai Lemongrass Chicken was kind of bland. Maybe that’s what Lemongrass Chicken is supposed to taste like. My taste buds didn’t like it though.
The Garden Vegetable Soup doesn’t taste anything like the old one. I’m not even sure how to describe it. I will say that I didn’t care for the old Garden Vegetable Soup at first either, so will order it a few more times to see if the taste grows on me.

My southwestern chicken was not dry. I noticed several others had mentioned that same thing about being dry. Mine was fine.
I, personally, am not happy to see the Mesquite Chicken go. I enjoyed that also.
I am probably more unhappy though, to see only 3 new items added to the program after waiting such a long spell. I understand that developing new recipes can be difficult, but from just reading this message board, it sounds as if there are so many OLD recipes discontinued, that were great and could have been brought back.
I got to wonder if any "high ups" at JC even pay attention to these posts.

I have to agree with Alf and the post starter. The Southwest chicken was very DRY and my beans also exploded. I was not that impressed with it. I ended up taking a few bites and giving the rest to my nephew. He "dressed" it up by adding some lemon pepper & spraying quite a few sprays of ICBNB spray which helped the dryness, but then made the taste a little too buttery! I too am very disappointed the decided to X the Mesquite Chicken ... I guess I just have to continue to stock up ...
