My husband and I just bought a new house and I can't find my steamer anywhere. So does anyone have any suggestions on how to steam them without one. Thaks to anyone who can help.

If you are using frozen veggies, just stick them in a microwavable bowl and zap them for a few minutes. You don't even need to add water. I have a container especially made to steam veggies in the microwave from Pampered Chef. It came in a four piece set. Two "pots" and lids for steaming. The lids have holes in the tops to drain the water off when you finish cooking. But the other night when I couldn't find one of the tops I just zapped my veggies without it and they turned out fine.

I steam all my fresh veggies in the microwave. I put one cup of chopped broccoli in a small bowl with a 1/4 cup of water, then cover it with plastic wrap leaving a tiny opening at one side for air to escape. Then I put it in for 1-1/2 minutes. It comes out perfectly!
