This is the start of my third week on JC, I do the personalized menu. This week I picked the swedish meatballs. GROSS!! I'm kinda shocked, because I literally LOVE everything on the menu, and even things that aren't my total favorite like the honey oat bar, I can certainly stand, but this swedish meatballs was so bad, I couldn't get it down!! It even smells bad. I was wondering if anyone else feels the same way or did I somehow get a rotten one???? I mean that's how bad it was, it was like it was rotten or something?? anyone else??
Alf
I agree with you. I can't stand the Swedish Meatballs and refuse to order them. There's too many other things I love to waste my time eating them. Yuk!!

Now you see, I love the swedish meatballs but I can't stand the honey oat bar and would have to force myself to eat it when I had it in my personalized menu.

I don't like the Honey Oat Bar OR the Swedish Meatballs. In fact, I have found that most of the non-frozen foods I don't care for with the exception of the soups and chilis.
Guess that's why they give us so many choices - to please all of us, which we know isn't an easy task

If you want my opinion: the swedish balls smell like rotten meat that was left in the fridge for a month, and they taste like cardboard. There, I said it!
Yep, they are YUK! You didn't get a rotten one. They are all rotten
Gee, I am *so* mean...

PS My favourite food is (today, cause it changes): Postickers.

I like the swedish meatballs AND the honey oat bar. In fact, the honey oat bar is one of my favorite breakfasts. The meatballs don't smell great cold, but once it's heated up it's fine. I like to saute a mess of mushrooms and a little bit of minced onion and add to it. I also add fat free or reduced fat sour cream sometimes to make it more like strouganoff.
I always find it really interesting when people use such toddler language to describe food or feel compelled to compare it to something like rotting meat? instead of just saying, "I don't like it" or "I don't care for it" ... Just shows how emotional we've become about food. I think one measure of overall success in reshaping our food attitudes is when we can drop the hyperbole and be a little more ... dispassionate ... about likes and dislikes.

There is an actual eating disorder wherin one becomes "too" healthy. One of the symptoms is food name calling. It is important that as we become more health aware that we maintain a healthy mental balance.

I agree that the Swedish Meatballs have a different taste. They're not my favorite but they're okay. I'm not a big fan of mushrooms which is probably why they're not my favorite. But I never thought of them as having a rotten meat taste or smell.

I always find it interesting when someone feels compelled to try and make someone feel bad or ashamed of how they feel or think about something as trivial as meatballs!! Funniegirl, do you feel better about yourself now that you've called someone's opinion of a food taste toddler like language.?? who's the toddler here. maybe you should analyze why it is you feel the need to put people down?

After reading this thread last nite, I ended up having my swedish meatballs for lunch today. lol. Yummy in the tummy for me.

I love the Sweedish Meatballs. Funniegirl thanks for the idea of adding extra mushrooms, minced onions, and a smidge of FF sour cream to make it more stroganoff like. *YUMMY*
As for smelling like rotten meat, I can now say at 41 pounds lighter that all of the greasy bullcrap like fried rice, pizza hut supreme pan pizza, and popeye's fried chicken that I stuffed myself with in the past didn't smell that great either. I have a healthier attitude toward what I like and don't care for. Hey it's all apart of the lifestyle change right?

I love the swedish meatballs, and I don't care for the honey oat bar.
Aren't we all different in our likes and dislikes.
I think some people think they are being "creative" when they call food names.
Now, the turkey jerky that really smells and is gross, IMO.
