Full Version: What to do when you're sick of the food?
Jenny Craig > Food and Dining Out > Favorite Foods
Justine
I've been on JC for only 4 months, and I'm already getting sick of the food. I really enjoyed it all at first, but now I'm getting sick of many items and my selection is getting smaller. I even change or add things to the meals for variety but it's not helping much. No worries, I won't go off program until I've reached my goal... but does anyone else feel the same way?

A lot of people go through the same thing. If you don't have it already, get the Creative Recipes cookbook, and start using it to modify your meals. You can also look in the forums, there are lots of suggestions on how to jazz up the meals.
One other option is to add some meals on your own into your day. Find low-fat recipes for some of your favorite foods, and have your consultant help you plan meals around them that fit with the program.
Good luck in getting over this blah time.

I agree about the Creative Recipes booklet. It has a lot of good ideas and also it helps to spark some of your own ideas. For example, last week I turned the Jenny's pizza into a "Greek" pizza with fat free feta cheese, artichoke hearts, and mushrooms. It was GREAT! Also, check out all the "limited free exchanges" and start to be aggressive about using your 3 per day....it's amazing how things like a dollop of fat free Cool Whip with a dessert, or having your fruit stirred into some sugar free jello, can make you feel like you are having a splurge. 3 X 25 is 75 extra calories per day.
Finally, a couple of weeks ago I found out that you are allowed to have an extra splurge of 250 calories per week! It says so right there in the Dining Out guide. This could account for, example, a small cone from Dairy Queen. I think learning how to handle treats like this in moderation is good training for the long run. For the first time in my life I feel like I am truly eating "moderately", i.e. not too strict, no binges, and still gradually losing weight.

I'm only on 4 weeks and I am kinda bored with the food. Thank god for those Chicken Fajitas I can eat them like every night. I am also starting to get more hungry. I am on the 1200 day calorie intake. I think its because Im excercising on the treadmill a mile a day everyday. It makes me hungry...what should i do? please dont say eat more veggies (i hate most of them).

justmebev....one thing i'm going to recommend is using your manuals. go to the section on tuning into your hunger signals...i found this really helpful as i too thought i was very hungry all day however i soon realized how i associate food with many things ..such as when i watched t.v. or when i visited my parents house..i learned that i physically wasn't hungry i had just "trained" myself to think so...now that i focus on my true hunger signals i realize i am much more satisfied than i thought..hope this helps...also i drink lots of water and hot tea to fill up.
