I thought I would say hi to all and perhaps get some movement on this thread.I can't be the only Aussie on these boards.....but then again maybe I am!!!!!
We have some new food on our menu so I am hoping that will give me the boost I need to drop the remaining 4-5kilos I would like to lose

Im an Aussie too. How long have you been on the program? Im only in week 5, so far about 4kg lost.
Loving everything about the program! My hubby is having the dinners too, so we get to sit down to the same meal and its such a great help. He is very supportive! (i HATE eating different to him at dinner time)

Hi Ginger,
Congrats on your weight loss so far-that is an awesome effort.
So far I have lost 11 kilos but I have just returned to JC after a 6 week break(my Mum passed away).I'm finding it pretty tough to stay on the program but I have started going to the gym again so I guess that will help me get a bit more focussed!!!
I agree that having your hubbies support is so important.Mine is actually doing JC as well.He has lost about the same as me and is looking fantastic
How sad is it about Steve Irwin? And now Peter Brock......Two legends in less than a week
Good luck with your weight loss, chat again soon,
Belinda

Wow, you have lost a lot of weight! Congrats.
As for poor Steve.... I just dont know what to think. I just kept thinking that it had to be a mistake. I just couldnt believe it untill they said on the news that they did an autopsy. Its just bloody crushing. Such a waste, he was such a vibrant, amazing GOOD person. Its just plain wrong that he is gone. And now Brock
Anyway.... i have my weigh in tomorrow
I feel its going to be a crap loss. Had a few drinks and didnt eat anywhere near all of the food i was ment to. At least i didnt add any junk. Also, was a crazy week wich is my excuse for a slack week exercise wise.
What day do you weigh in? we should report our losses!!

Hey Ginger,
I'm finding it really hard to stay true to the program at the moment I find myself cheating here and there and then thinking that's ok...I'll just work it off!!!!But it isn't ok!!!!I only want to lose another 3-4kilos so you would think that it would easy, wouldn't you?????
I go for WI on Friday so we will see how I go this week!!!
So how is your journey going?I keep thinking Summer is nearly here...thank goodness.
Where are you from?I'm in Melbourne and footy finals are upon us-although there are no games in Melbourne this week...much to the dismay of my hubby and daughters who are Melb members and go every week...Perth is just a bit toooo far..lol
Take care

Hi Aussiebelle and Ginger.
Do you mind if a fellow Aussie joins your discussion? I have been back on JC since June this year and so far have lost 10kg - a long hard, but steady slog.
How are you finding the new menus?
Aussiebelle, the last few kgs are always the toughest to lose, but I am sure you will get there if you just push through this phase.
Ginger, great loss so far, but hang in there and when you do fall off the wagon, get right back on program the very next meal. I found that was the best plan, rather than beating myself up and feeling bad.
Where are you both located? I am in Perth.
And will add to your comments about the loss of two Aussie greats - its just so hard to beleive they are gone.
I weigh in on Wednesday mornings, so tomorrow is it.
What exercise are you both doing?
Cheers for now. Good luck to both of you.
Kirsa

Hi Kirsa,
Welcome to the boards and of coarse you are more than welcome to join in
10 kilos is a great effort....it does get hard at times though, doesn't it??????
I am trying really hard at the moment to concentrate on my fitness levels and so have tried to up my cardio.I average about 5 hours a week and then I also do some body pump.I'm a member of Fernwood so all the classes are included(except for spin classes)but I don't really enjoy anything that you have to jump around toooo much!!!
Ginger,I find if I drink heaps of water after having a few drinks it does help to flush out the system-literally...lol...After all we are only human so of coarse we are going to get off track sometimes!Great loss so far btw;you must be starting to see the difference in your clothing!!!
Keep in touch and let us know how you are both doing

Thanks for your cheery welcome Aussiebelle! Wow 5 hrs cardio a week, you are doing great. Its hard to guage whats enough exercise and what is being obsessive isnt it? I am also trying to get the cardio up, but I want to get a balance so that the exercise is something that I can keep up for the rest of my life, otherwise once I stop the exercise the weight will all come back on. At the moment I do 4/5 days a week on my treadmill. 20 mins running and then I do 30mins powerwalk on 7 incline. My goal is to do 30mins running and 30mins walk uphill 4 days a week. Do you do any weight training at all?
It was hard last week as I went down to the 5000kj plan from 6500. I felt so hungry!! And was quite grumpy, which is not like me. And have felt so very tired, it was hard to push myself to do the exercise. But my JC consultant was very patient and said just see how the next week goes and we can review it then. But after a few days of just hanging in there I feel better today.
So how are you both fairing? Any challenges?
See ya.

Hi guys,
Ginger- how did you go at your weigh-in?I have mine tomorrow and although I was good early in the week I think I have given in to tempation a few times toooo many later in the week
Kirsa-that's a great cardio workout you are doing I gave up work Xmas last year-Mum was really sick/moved into a new house/kids growing too quickly.......so now I have lots of time to workout.Mum sadly passed away 5 weeks ago so I have found going to the gym has helped me to get out of the house and to clear my head.
I have done weight training and circuits in the past but now I find them boring so I do Body Pump. It's always challenging and I find I push myself much more!!!!!
Today I had a rest day-feeling a bit down and nursing a sore calf Tomorrow I'll do about an hour cardio and some ab work-trying to get rid of that spare tyre that doesn't want to go away....ugh
BTW I love the new pumpkin tortellini and the passionfruit teacake....YUM

Fingers crossed for your weigh in tomorrow Aussiebelle! Hold your breath, wear a light little spring dress, and do a wee before you weigh
Ginger, are you still about?
I had a better day today, the body has adjusted to the lower cal intake, and I am not so tired today. Went out for a run/walk for 50mins with my very fit 17yr old son - boy that was a hard run!
Talk soon - keep up the great work girls.

Hey Kirsa,
Fantastic effort with your run
I know just how fit 17year olds can be so can only imagine how tough that was
Does he follow the footie?????I bet you are all pretty confident the Eagles or Freo will get through!!!!I'm an Essendon supporter...boo hoo...but my hubbie and daughters go for Melbourne..go dees
I have decided to have a break from JC for a while-too much going on in my head...As long as I keep going to the gym and watch what I eat I should be ok.Obviously if I put any weight on I will go back but at the moment I don't want to go!
Where are you Ginger?????We need more Aussies and Kiwis to join in!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a great weekend,Kirsa

Hi Aussiebelle
Sorry I havent posted in a few days, work has been hectic! The only plus to that is I have no time to prowl the pantry and eat junk!
I have to confess that I am not a footy fan at all, but as a west aussie I am quietly thrilled that both our teams are into the next round of finals! I am just hanging out for the cricket season, Brett Lee in his underwear is what keeps me focused on the treadmill.
How are you finding your break from JC? Are you still watching what you eat or just having a total break from dieting? I know how that feels, you just want to stop thinking about food! But if you want a small bit of advice, and this is from my own personal exp, try and have a break without losing all the good habits you have learnt. Like still portion control, and have low fat snacks. You probably are doing this anyway, so good on ya.
I had a surprise weigh in yesterday, I lost 1.3kg, after what I thought was a hard week. But the week before was 100grams after a week when I thought I had done everything right. I am getting the message that my weight loss is over a 2 week period rather than a week.
I am a little worried about an up coming holiday. We are going up to Meekatharra (about 800km north east of Perth) to a bush races for 6 days. Its a wild event, so you can imagine a lot of drink, bbq, camping food etc. I cant imagine sitting there in that environment with bushies eating my JC!! So I am planning to have the week off, trying to keep the drinking to a minimum and walking like crazy! I am going to take the JC snacks so I dont eat chips etc and have planned to make a few meals to freeze where I have some control of the cals.
I too watched the Steve Irwin memorial yesterday, I had to walk away as I was crying like a baby. Those poor little kids of his, my heart just broke for them. But wasnt little Bindy just amazing? What a poised young lady - she has a bright future.
I also was so sad about Brocky, he was killed not far from us, and it was such a shock.
Chat soon Aussiebelle, have a great week.

Hi everyone,
I haven't really been doing much in the way of diet/exercise this week....my calf is finally feeling a bit better so I think I will give it another day or two and then go do a light workout
It's also hard to stay on track with my daughters home from school and uni!!!We love to sit and chat and I love spending that time with them. Also lots of b/days coming up so I will need to be really careful to stay focussed.....
Kirsa it sounds like you will be able to stay in control on your trip...don't stress too much if you stray a little-have a good time and get back on track when you get back.
I don't really follow the cricket but of coarse being a dinkie die I like anything that the Aussies are in so ...Aussie,Aussie,Aussie....oie,oie oie
