hi all, I live in Tauranga, NZ, and tomorrow I go for my second week weigh in. I haven't done as well as I had hoped to start with, but I'm very quickly realising how much I was used to eating! eeek.
I am very committed to this, but it find it hard being at home all day, and have a lot of bad habits to break. I've started with changing to decaf coffee and using sweetners. I'm trying to up my water, exercise, and positive thoughts about myself, and of course eating right for what could possibly be the first time in life. I would be really keen to find some buddies on this journey to a better me. looking forward to getting to know you all better. |

Well done "fellow kiwi". I think we're the only 2 here from the land of the long white cloud!
I'm from Gissie (Gisborne) - and occasionally get in here to post. Been doing JC for nearly 6 weeks - had to have a couple of weeks away from it cos I was ill. Back with a vengeance now and am losing each week - although, no loss last week (inches but not on the scales)! Lots of walking - plenty of rain water and already I'm feeling loads healthier. Good luck with your journey - we'll catch up again I hope Cheers |

hello Linda & SherNZ,
how are you guys doing? I had my third week weigh in today, only half a kilo this week, but that brings it to 3 kilos in three weeks - I'm pretty happy. I have to admit I'm really enjoying it, and think I may be able to go ALL the way this time. I'd love to hear from you. |

Kia Ora to my fellow kiwi JC converts,
I'm new to JC, still in my first week. I live in Auckland, and I've recently been made redundant, and so I have decided to focus on the things I've always said I was too busy to think about. That's mainly doing routine workouts, and eating right. It's only day 4 for me, and already I am feeling dubious as to whether I will stick with it. The reason? It's half past one and I still haven't felt hungry, so still haven't eaten anything. PLEASE someone give me a kick in the backside, because I KNOW there's not much better opportunity to stick with it than the opportunity I have now. I can't complain about not having time to prepare meals, I am just without an appetite, and I really don't want to pay $120 per week for JC food plus extra for groceries I am not going to eat. When I read about the successes I am moved to tears. I have made this financial commitment, and so now I'm trying to find a way to get past this fear that I may fail. I think if I can follow a rigid schedule for the first two weeks, I will see improvement which will give me that motivation. For now all I see are big numbers of K to lose, and it's all so overwhelming. Just wondering if anyone else has come upon this type of roadblock? Anyway, good luck all, and Kia Kaha. |

hello to pressuremedic, and all kiwi's on Jenny Craig.
I think your fear of failure is really common, I know I fight it all the time, in fact I even struggle with fear of success, if you can believe that! I sometimes get scared that I'm actually going to achieve my goal, and then what will my life be like!? Anyway, I guess you just have to give it a go, I mean what have you got to lose except some excess weight right? You say that you have no appetite, but do you think that is going to be a long term thing, my guess is that it will pass soon, and then you will be needing the structure and support that JC offers. I know how you're feeling right now, and how ominous that amount of Kilos seems, but you can do it, it is possible, and you are worth it! keep in touch. Carly |

Kia Ora,
Thanks for the words of support, Actually, after I wrote on the message board yesterday, I felt more inspired and went out for a 1/2 hour walk with a (very) little bit of running as well. I felt much better afterwards, and also felt hungry as well. Last night I arranged my calendar with firm wake-up and sleep times, firm breakfast / lunch / dinner times, and firm schedules for brisk walks and other workouts. I am going to keep to this, I think having a walk early in the a.m. will help my appetite and make my life more normal. That's been tough since I've been redundant for almost two months, and I've grown complacent. Just knowing there's others out there is a great big help, and thanks for the reply. I'm actually looking forward to my first weigh-in now, and I won't expect miracles, will be happy to take it a day at a time. Cheers, Sunny |

Hi you guys,
Well I'm a wee bit nervous about weighing in tomorrow. Good news is that I've stuck to my exercise AND eating plans for the last 2 days, and today I'm going to a barbeque, but I've already eaten so I'm just bringing myself and my water bottle. OOh, I'm crossing my fingers for tomorrow. Cheers all. |

.75kgs is one and half pounds. that is great! I bet you didn't put it on that fast either. hang in there, once your routine kicks in, you will really start to see some changes - I know it.
And if none of that helps, just remember that at least you didn't put ON anything! |

Hey there fellow kiwis.
I must apologise, I haven't been in here for weeks and weeks - due to the fact that I had a major computer crash - now I have a brand spanking new Windows XP plus heaps and heaps of RAM and I am just loving it. About my JC to date. Well, from starting at 97kgs on 31 august 01 and having a break for over a month due to illness I began again on 8 November at 89.5kg - as at 20 December 2001 I was 85.5kg and on the down (so it seemed). I came off JC and have only just begun again today. I decided that I could in no way continue all through christmas - plenty of friends and family and this means plenty of kai. My goal is to reach 75 kgs. I am absolutely petrified to stand on my scales - I know that I have gained over this break - I can feel it. I am very motivated to continue with JC. I just have to remember to take it a "day at a time". Small steps. I am also going to give away the alcohol "again". When I had glandular fever I completely gave up - so no more light ices for me (although with this heatwave we are having in Gissie it makes for one very thirsty kiwigal)! Keep posting away and I'll throw my 10 cents worth in when I can. Happy New Year to you I'm about to go out for my 1 hour walk - I feel hot just thinking about it! The temp out there is about 25 C!!! (On my kitchen window its 40!) Phew! Ciao |

ooooh, well, pre christmas I was 85.5 - I weighed this morning after a weekend of total NON JC food and had stacked on 2 kgs. I knew I would add on a little extra and maybe I should be disappointed but I'm not - I actually thought I would have gained a heck of a lot more!
I'm so determined to lose another 10kgs and as the first 10kgs came off fairly painlessly then I know that I can do it. The power of positive thought - and using a bit of my own energy as well. Since last week I am back out there walking for just under 1 hour per day - although over the weekend we had a fishing comp on and that meant 2 days out on the briney searching for the elusive yellow fin and other varieties. Not our weekend but at least we now have a fridge full of hapuka - there goes JC food tonight at least - coz I cannot resist fresh grilled fish with chilly sauce on the side and a fresh salad. Mmmmmm. Nice to see a few kiwis entering into this website (finally) - I was the only one about for quite a while initially and I have made some really good friends along the way. One lady in particular whom I must say THANKS to I met on a JC chat one afternoon. A big congratulations goes out to Dee who is now a member of staff for Jenny Craig in her hometown (in USA). Dee's story is wonderful and she shared it with me some time ago - managed to secure her new job and she only starts tomorrow (being Monday USA time). She lost masses of weight as well and sent pics to me (before and after) and is an inspiration. I am a little "miffed" with our JC staff in NZ = my counsellor is not a JC convert - in fact I think that employing people who understand the plights of the overweight should be a MUST. I also can't believe that JC NZ don't yet have a website - Aussie does. I have spoken with my counsellor a no. of times - esp when she says, and "what are your goals this week"? Well, I endure daily goals - but mentioned to her that I have weekly challenges with a few "friends" from the JC website - they are very inspiring. My weekly "chats" with my counsellor are not really that inspiring. I rave about this website and what I am gleaning from it. Lots of help out there. Anyway, forgive my "prattle" folks - time for me to move my butt and get on with the chores of the day and there are a few of them - fishing is easy - it cleaning up that takes the joy out of it! Catch up later |

I really enjoyed reading from all of your sharing from New Zealand. I said to myself "why do we just want to share with people from our own area?. I think it is so wonderful to share with people of other lands and places. I am from Nebraska and would love to encourage each of you. I don't quite understand all of the weight measurements but will try to catch on. Sounds like you are all doing great. I find it so much easier to do JC than other plans. I love the food and have given up cooking. I have cooked and cooked fo ror years and now it is time to let someone else do it .

Hi Doris
If you multiply our kilos e.g., 85 kg by 2.2 you convert this to pounds (187 lbs) - okey dokey. Great to have other nationalities call in and visit us and hopefully "stay awhile". I post sometimes on Canadian and USA boards. I also keep in touch with some great people from your country regarding the JC plan. I have a little group called the 02bthinner team and we report to each other once a week. Well, time to go do some gardening - I have put this chore off for quite some time. I also have another chore to do today and that is let my counsellor know that I've added kilos during my break and that I won't be needing JC food for another fortnight - I've been eating fresh fish and salads and hence my freezer is still packed with those nice and easy microwavable foods. Keep up the posts Cheers |

It is wonderful to hear that it is gardening weather there. I live on a farm but it is soooo cold out. Gardening is a few months down the road.
Do you catch your own fresh fish? Today I enjoyed the chocolate cake and milk for my snack. Is that available to you? |
