Jenn
Welcome to JC. It's the best thing I've ever done. I've also tried lots of other things out there even WW and I like JC better! The food is great and yes it cost a little more but you're worth it!! It teaches you proper portion control and better food choices. This is only my 3 rd week but I have learned alot. I'm an LVN, when are you finished with nursing school? Good Luck, you can do it!!! |

The cost is the only reason I wouldn't be able to join but I did find out that our health insurance will cover half so I hope it works out for me. Good luck on your journey Jenn, I'm sure you will do great. I didn't do the calculator yet-Ugh!!! Take care and again good luck. Ivy |

The cost was a little higher then I wanted but I worked it out.... any tips from those who have been doing JC for a while to help keep the costs under $100 a week?
I amtrying the 20pounds for $20 and if I do good then I will upgrade to the next package to help me reach my goal!!!! -------------------- |

My advice would be to do you homework before you go in to join. My first week I spent $191, I told them I needed it cheaper then it was $160, and after I saved some meals from last week I finally got it to $78 this week. If someone told me it would be $500+/month. I may have reconsidered, not to mention I've only lost 3 lbs in 2 weeks. Expensive 3 lbs. if you ask me! Well, good luck Jen, whatever you decide. Just don't get taken for a ride. Plus, they don't tell you how much each menu item is... If you have any questions, call first or talk to members on here.

Here are a few quick ways to trim costs. But first, I don't recommend cutting out any of their meals, as you just started. You should wait til you reach your half-way goal to start substituting your own foods.
-ditch the anytime bars (especially if you don't like them). It's much cheaper to substitute a serving of milk and a daily multivitamin. -unless you really really need them to get thru the day, ditch the soupitizers. -don't buy their packages of syrup and salad dressings. Much much cheaper to purchase bottles of fat-free dressing and low-fat syrup at the grocery store. - there is really no major need to buy the protect pills. As long as you are taking your multivitamin every day you are fine. -not sure if you are doing planned weekly meals or doing personalized meals. If you are doing personalized, and the budget is super tight on any given week, choose a greater amount of the shelf-stable foods. They are cheaper than the frozen meals (although unfortunately, most are not quite as tasty as the frozen meals.) Thanks so much for the info.... I didn't get any of the souptizers and after this week will for sure not get any of the anytime bars.....they are kind of yucky....lol I love the idea of subsituting the anytime bar for a yougurt.... I didn't buy the pills.... but I do need to start taking a multi vit....any suggestions on that? I didn't get the salad dressings.... I bought a fat free salad dressing that I love..... And I only got muffins for breakfast because they were cheaper and they are so yummy.... I like the idea for getting the non perishable foods....while going to nursing school I am still working for an airline (not a flight attendant) so I do travel a lot and not having to worry about finding a refridg.... So far all the foods I have tried are super yummy.... I am a cheesy pasata girl by heart

You will be so surprised at how easily you will get into the routine of this program. I am looking forward to hearing about your progress - and yes, you are also helping me get motivated to "get back in the saddle" and finish losing my weight. Jenny Craig is the greatest. |
I just wanted to add that I just signed up last week and we talked about prices and my consultant gave me a price list of all the foods so I can figure out what is the most economical for me. Since I don't eat beef or pork I pick out all of my meals. So I think the info is available if you ask for it. -------------------- SW: 188.6 (Nov 7th)
