Yes. It is between 95 and 125 a week. You can make it less by buying your own cereal and eating yogurt instead of anytime bars. I am finally to the point where I can start weaning off their food. Yeah for my checkbook!

And you need to still buy fresh grocery items: i.e., salad fixings (lettuce, etc.), yogurt, skim milk, cottage cheese, etc. It's VERY EXPENSIVE.

It costs seven dollars more per week than the average American family spends per person per week.

Yeah, it can be more expensive than staying fat, but it can also be less expensive. If you never go out for any meals, snacks or drinks, it may be more than you are accustomed to spending per person. The average American spends about $15 per day per person, and JC is about $16 a day for the planned menu. It can get more expensive if you insist on ordering only the frozen items.

I used to go out 3-4 times per week to restaurants and fast food joints, and two nights per week for happy hour. Plus snacks I got from the machines, and coffee at Starbuck's (and sometimes pastries). I found that I was actually spending $30-$60 per week less on JC than I had been spending before.

I hadn't gone out for dinner for a while, and a friend and I went to Macaroni Grill last weekend. I spent more on that one meal than I'd spend for two days on JC!

JC isn't cheap, but there are plenty of food-based programs that cost a lot more—anywhere from $25-$55 a day!

Another thing to consider is if you think you can't afford JC, you ought to see what it costs to keep yourself in diabetic supplies, high blood pressure medication, and for things like knee replacement surgery!

It varies. I do not buy the Anytime Bars b/c they taste terrible -- I just eat a dairy instead.

Also, I don't eat EVERY meal -- I do meals on my own occasionally (although that has proven to stunt my weight loss).

My weekly food bill ranges from $75-$95. I haven't gone over $100 in a long time.

Helen thank you for the statistic but:

Jenny Craig clients, on average, spend just $1 a day more on Jenny's Cuisine™ than the typical American spends on food.*

Its acutally just 1 dollar a day rather than 7 dollars.

Hope this helps!

Be careful of the program you purchase at jenny craig. My husband and I started the first time 22 years ago and at that time we bought a lifetime membership then we decided to start again as a birthday present ( we are 3 days apart) in 2007 so we went back to the same jenny craig and were told they had no old records and there program had a lot of changes so we again bought a lifetime program we spent over 300.00 and we lost a considerable mount of weight but we had went off for a while. We did buy food accasionally within the next two years but again decided to return in october of this year. We again went back to the same jenny craig location and were told we no longer had the lifetime membership because if had been a while since we had been there. We would have had to pay a 49.00 each restart fee plus buy the food at regular price even though we had previosly bought 2 lifetime memberships. Needless to say we did not re join and dont plan on going back.

"Its acutally just 1 dollar a day rather than 7 dollars."

A dollar a day is seven dollars a week. I was giving the amount for a week, not a day.

Jodi, did you go "above" your local office to check on that? That's not the information I got when I returned.

Jodi and Helen are correct. It's on this site under "programs" then "FAQs". You will find the exact words about the $1 more per day.

I live in Canada. I eat 100% Jenny Craig right now. I spend anywhere from $130 to $150 a week. That's not including dairy and veggies. MIND you, I don't eat at fast food any longer and am NOT spending money on junk food and snacks.

Yes it costs but to me it's worth it if I loose the weight and keep it off. I tried Wright Watchers and I was back 9 times, that cost quite a bit. Hopefully this will be the last time that I have to loose the weight and it won't find me!

Jodi, they called Membership Services to confirm my lifetime membership when I had been away for a few years.

The only reason you should have to pay an activation fee is if you wanted to get the features of the PSP plan. At this point, since your center isn't being very cooperative (or don't seem to know that they can call there), I'd call JC in California to demand some action. It doesn't sound like they should be turning you away.

i pay about $50-60 a week. I get 30% off b/c of my membership (20+ visits i think) so I technically spend $70-80, then it comes down to my cost.

THANK YOU JACKIE FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE
My husband and I received a call from jackie from customer service and she was so nice and helpful and straightened the problems we were having with restarting. We both have now restarted the program and are very happy with the way that customer service was so helpful. I will tell you I was so upset because this program has really helped both of us before so much so we did not want to find any other program. The food is great and it really does work. I work at a college and have talked so many people into joining the program and I have not had anyone not lose the weight they wanted to lose. The most impressive thing about jenny craig is that my husbands blood test always came back with problems but a few months after we started jenny craig in 2007 he went back in and had more blood test and the doctor was shocked of the results everything was normal for the first time in years. I know for fact the doctor has since recommended this program to his patients because of the difference in my husband.
I cant say enough good things about this program and now there customer service.
THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU
Mark and Jodi Ellis

If your just starting out, you shouldnt try to substitute the meals yet. You could substitute the cereals. I dont buy JC Cereal, Anytime bars, and try not to but too many frozen items. I use Kashi go lean cereal, nonfat yogurt and my own vitamins instead. It still comes out to be around $80-90. Than I gotta go buy produce! But I'm st arting to realize its sooo worth it. Ask for a price list, that will atleast help to see which items are a bit on the pricey side.

I am in Canada and when I started my JC food bill was $170-180 per week.

That is WAY more than what my food bill normally would have been per week - I don't typically eat out much.

Having said that, it's totally been worth it to me. it only stayed that high for the first 3 weeks and then I started subbing the odd thing here and there and got it down to about $130 per week. Now that I'm past halfway it's typically at about $86 per week.

THAT I can live with, even long term if needed. I do think I will keep buying some JC foods even after goal.
