I do personalized menu planning and like to coordinate my lunch and dinner to allow for extra exchanges I want to incorporate. Does anyone else do this? On 1200 calories a day I don't get a lot of extra exchanges, so this works well for me. For instance:

On the day I'm having the new beef chili for dinner (which I volumize to make delish), I have a tuna or chicken salad kit for lunch. That way I can save the crackers from the kit to have with my chili at night. I put the tuna or chicken salad on top of a salad.

On the day that I'm having beef and barley stew for lunch (add a squirt of mustard to make it tangy), I have macaroni and cheese for dinner. The mac and cheese entree calls for an extra 1/2 starch. I make this a slice of 35-calorie bread, toasted, and have it for lunch with my beef and barley stew. I love having the bread to "sop up" the extra gravy.

I'm not nearly as imaginative as you. Really, the only swapping of exchanges I do is when I save my lunch fat exchange (if I don't use dressing on my lunch salad) and use it at dinner, for a little EVOO to cook up my veggies, or for a few ounces of wine with dinner. There are a few lunch entrées that I just pour all over a big pile of salad greens - no dressing required.

I haven't done this yet, but I was also thinking about getting the stuffed baked potato and the chile con carne. Then, split them both so that I could have a half a baked potato (they're so big) topped with half the chili on one day and save the rest for another day. Could even top with fat free cheese or fat free sour cream. I've always loved the chili baked potatoes at Wendy's.

Wow, those sound great, I never even thought of doing that! Sounds good!

When I was a kid, we always had macaroni and cheese with hot dogs. It's a comfort food for me. I missed having my hot dog with my mac and cheese my first 2 weeks on program. When I figured out I could have cereal and have a meat leftover, I started planning my "weigh-in day" reward meal of my favorite comfort food.

Breakfast: Banana Nut Cereal - leftover meat exchange
Dinner: Jenny Mac & Cheese - 1/2 starch leftover -
Add - 1 "light" Oscar Meyer Weiner & 1 slice "light" bread or "light" hot dog bun (if we can find them at the supermarket)

I do these things too! One of my favorites is when I get the cereals that gives you a meat exchange and pair it up with the Fajita's at night and make a quesadilla.

What are these extra exchanges? I am on the 1200 calorie plan and I am not adding anything not on my planner.

If you are doing the planner online then it should already be adding them in for you. For example put a mac and cheese in on one of the days for dinner and you should see 1/2 starch pop up under it.
I believe these are the extra exchanges they are referring to.
