Okay - I've tried the new dinner chili twice just to be sure I was giving it a fair shake. I'm sorry, but it simply is not as good tasting as the old chili.
I've cooked it in the container and also cooked it in a bowl to see if it made a difference. The seasoning is off to me. I asked our consultants what they thought and, they didn't say it was bad, but they said they were eating it with the sourdough bites and enjoyed that. Well, those are discontinued as well, but at least there was finally a good use for them if they made that chili taste better. -------------------- |

I always have my chili over salad with some FF cheese and FF sour cream (more like a taco salad), so I can't say that I even noticed a difference in taste. The consistency is definitely different - more runny than the lunch chili, but very similar to the turkey chili.

All three chilis are still available at my centre have you checked yours? I already bought a flat of it and I guess I could go from center to center to find more but it doesn't have an indefinite shelf life. And why tie up all that money? Here's my logic: 1) The lunch choices are dwindling and to get rid of a good one just doesn't make any sense. 2) There was already a dinner chili. 3) It seems like the smart thing to do would be to bring it back (same recipe) but put it in the microwaveable bowl if convenience was the issue. -------------------- |

I had the new chili for dinner last night, but I "doctored" it first. I put it into a saucepan and added a few grape tomatoes (cut in half), several spoons of salsa, a splash of V-8, and then some chili powder and some cumin. I didn't have any green pepper, but that would also be a nice addition. I cooked it for a full ten minutes to meld the flavors. I served it with chopped onion. It was delicious, and this truly volumized it. I had two full bowls and was stuffed.
Also, I had had the tuna salad for lunch, on a salad, so I saved my crackers from the tuna kit. That way I could have crackers with my chili. Very good. Melodie -------------------- SW: 162

I had the new dinner chili tonight. I ate it right out the bowl; added a little lit salt & onion powder to it. I thouhgt it was pretty good. It is definitely a "canned" chilli; like Hormels.
Next time I play around with it a bit... add veggies or put it over a salad. Lorraine |

It was OK but not great--I won't order it again. The soupiness was kind of gross, and I miss the Chile con Carne. Who makes these decisions?

I agree - - bring back the Chile Con Carne. It's one of my favorites for lunch. I like to have it over a salad. WW has packets of shredded cheese that are portion controlled. I usually sprinkle a packet of that over my salad. Or I even like it right out of a bowl with a slice of FF cheese melted in it.

I have not even tried the new chili yet but knowing how good the old chili was I can't believe they discontinued it! They definitely did not make the right decision here! What is going on at corporate these days? C'mon Jenny, the old chili was great, why discontinue something great??? If it's not broke, don't fix it!!!

I also add a few low fat tortilla chips to give it a little crunch. I like having it as a big lunch when I work evening shift so that it keeps me full. I think I have 4 cans left. On the plus side of the new chili, I love the microwaveable bowl. -------------------- |
