I second (or third) the potstickers - they are horrible. Also, I may be alone here, but I did not like the Pesto Pizza... YUCK!! (Do they still have it?!?!)

I agree that the peanut butter anytime bars are disgusting. The taste is bland like they're stale but the texture is what really makes them bad. Ditto for whoever said they were like spackle. No resemblance of actual peanut butter.
I would say the psstickers were the second worst I had too.
I love the fish and chips but almost feel like I'm cheating when I eat them.

I know everyone has their own likes and dislikes. I have to agree with the potsticker thing though. YUCK! Couldn't even eat them.
I like the southwestern burrito, chicken carbonara, and the classico chicken parmesan is pretty good too.

Wow, different tastes around, thanks for sharing folks!

The Schezwan Pork. Icky. I hated it, Mom hated it and my brother who usually eats anything said the meat was "gamey."

Have to second the potstickers, did not like them either.

And I learned to tolerate the PB anytime bars, the grit is from the calcium, so I choke it down and remind myself it's better than drinking milk (which I hate.)

I haven't tried everything yet as I only started this past Friday, but I have a few things I cannot take and it's the 2 dressings...Asian and Basalmic, the Ranch is fine. I didn't care for the Macaroni and Cheese and I wasn't too crazy about the Italian Wedding Soup either. I finally got an answer from one of the dietician's, but these consultants give you conflicting advice. I'm doing the home version and when I call, they keep telling me different things! I was told NOT to buy dressings w/more than 20 calories...that's almost impossible, the dietician told me 45 which makes MUCH more sense. Is anyone who is doing this at home finding conflicting information?

Considering that the JC dressing contains 50 calories with approx 4.5g of fat, I would use that as an example. Serving size 28g

Honestly, i have not tried a lot of items because I am not a fan of shelf stable foods... I tried a few, and the only one I have liked (other than snacks and a the breakfast cereals) is the rotini and meatballs. I actually like the potstickers (don't get it all the time, though). I did like the penne pasta for a while, but the last 2 times I got it, it had a funky sour-like taste.

The salad kits are the worst to me.. i agree, my cats would not even eat it. yuck..

Folks,

Just to make it official. After tasting EVERYTHING, there is nothing more disgusting than the peanut butter anytime bars!!!

2nd place goes to the slimy chicken noodle thing. (Sorry wherever America, this is gross!)

I can't totally complain though. I have lost 80+ pounds on the program in 8 months.

-D

the anytime bars are just as bad

I buy regular dressing like the blue cheese and add a little waater to it and also a little splenda makes it taste great and IVE LOST 16 PDS SO IT DOES WORK WITH THIS DRESSING

It is funny how everyone has different tastes. I buy the homestyle chicken and noodle and add chicken broth to make more of it and have it with a package of everything crackers. It tastes fine to me. The graham crackers smell rancid to me so I dont buy them anymore. I dont like the peanut butter anytime bars because of the gritty feeling in my mouth. It is fun to see what people like and dislike. I loved the cherry chocolate cheesecake and I am so bummed that they no longer have it.

LOVE THE LEMON CAKE AND SMORES BARS AND THE MEATBALL SANDWICH IS MY FAVORITE

I just returned to Jenny Craig. I am not a fan of any of the dressings. I tried the 2 chicken soupitizers and thought they were horrible. I bought the potstickers today--yikes!! I do enjoy the pizzas. I pile extra veggies on them and I feel like I'm having a treat. Thanks for the comments on the fish and chips. I wasn't going to try those but now I think I will!

I love the swedish meatballs and the chicken/brocolli stuffed sandwich. I hated the potstickers and the meatloaf. Oh also didn't like the chicken salad.

Just goes to show... I actually still chose to buy the peanut butter Anytime Bars somewhat regularly even after 5 years on maintenance! And the homestyle chicken with noodles is one of our shelf staples.

Viva variety!

I have to agree with You variety is good.. I like the pbutter bar.. I eat it every day around 10 am..its like a little treat before my lunch.. I really dont like taking vitamins so this helps..

I guess that's why they have such a large selection of items...and hopefully everyone will be pleased! I am starting my 3rd week on the program so far and I am really loving the food! The only ones so far that I would probably not buy again are the Chicken Salad and the Cookout Chicken with Beans. I do not eat red meat, so I have not tried any of the beef or pork dishes.

Now for my favorites:

I LOVE the potstickers - I use some Canola spray and saute some fresh chopped garlic with some water chestnuts (canned), bamboo shoots (canned), and ginger (fresh). While these are cooking, I microwave the potstickers for about 1/2 the time required in order to unfreeze them but not necessarily heat them through. I then add the potstickers, cook a bit and then add a little bit of lite soy sauce right at the end. It make a lot of food and satisfies me every time. I make it my Saturday dinner because weekends are so hard for me and I need to feel satisfied.

I also really like the Homestyle Chicken with Noodles - but I understand that I am clearly in the minority because they just discontinued it. The menu planner calls to add 1/2 a starch to it, so I add 1/4 cup of corn to it while cooking. It makes a nice lunch at work.

I also really like the Breakfast Scramble (only once per week - on a weekend day), Chicken Fajitas and Chicken Fettucini. I add A LOT of veggies to these and they become VERY filling.

I still have some items left to try - but there are probably some that I won't get to. I know I won't try the Anytime bars. My consultant admitted that they are kind of grainy. I didn't want to buy a whole box of them and hate them, so I just have a yogurt instead. I also take my own vitamins.

It's been fun reading all of the comments! On the whole, I am extremely pleased with the food quality and taste! This is definitely something that I can stick with for the long haul - because it's going to take a while to get where I need to be!

All the best to everyone!

I finally was brave enough to microwave the shelf stable Southwestern Chicken with Rice. When it was done cooking it looked like a jelled ball of food and was darker than normal chicken and rice. Yuck!! It looked so insulting I had to throw it away.

Also, I guess the shelf stable foods get pretty hot pretty fast and I burned a finger sad.gif

no more shelf stable for me!!
