I am a consultant for Jenny Craig and it always breaks my heart when my vegetarian clients ask whats new... for months and months I've had to tell them there's nothing new and exciting for them to eat

Thank you so much for saying this! Especially about the potstickers.... First we all thought they were cool, because it says "soy chick'n" right on the front of the package. It wasn't until I had been enjoying them for two months before another consultant clued me in on the chicken ingredients. Sneaky.
It would be so much easier to stick to this for the months and months it takes to lose 50 pounds if there was more variety, and more choices than just pizza and pasta. JC partners with various specialists for different things -- like Gaiam for fitness equipment and Martha Beck for motivation -- how about partnering with a genuine vegetarian nutritionist for some supported menus? -------------------- |

I soooo agree. Although I eat chicken and turkey, there are not alot of choices if you choose not to eat meat. The potstickers are awesome. |

I am an omnivore but, even before joining JC I made it my practice to have a full day of being vegetarian every week and to eat vegan at least 2 times a week. JC should consider that many of us who eat meat don't necessarily want it at every meal. Of course also be great if the veggie items were more flavorful. |

As a long time vegetarian, I totally agree. I have been on JC for 6 months, and as a veg, I think it's harder to lose weight bc the vegetarian options tend to be higher in starch than the non-veg items. Also, the plain old lack of variety is a problem, especially when you factor in the fact that some of the vegetarian option are absolutely inedible (the potato soup, the lasagna, the ravioli- yuck!) I do give kudos for the veg sausage and pancakes, the pizzas, the cheesy enchilada, and the broc/cheese potato

There are SO many ways that new foods could be added, just changing up some of the meat ingredients with soy-based. It makes me crazy that there are so few edible lunch entrees for us veggies - my consultant has been kind enough to let me sub out dinner entrees for lunch, otherwise, I wouldn't still be with the plan! It's still not enough variety though. Why not do some frozen brown rice bowls with tofu and veggies? Amy's does one that is great, and several other dishes (Indian Food!) - JC should be able to do the same! |

Yes, please add more vegetarian options. So many of the current items could easily be made meatless and give much needed variety to the menu. Many people have stated they aren't vegetarians but would like more meat free choices as well. Bringing back the veggie burger and pasta ole would be a great start!!

I'm starting JC tomorrow and excited about it! I have to admit that when I was chosing my meals I was a bit disappointed with the Veggie Options. Or lack there of. I think I chose all that was available and had to double up on some. I can see that's what I'm going to be eating over and over until the weight is off. Still, I'm looking forward to starting and coming into it with a positive attitude. BUT if JC can bring in more veggie meals - boy would that make me happy!!!
Please add more veggie options Jenny! Thank you! |

I HATE the meals that have soy or veggie crumbles. I never buy the pancakes because the veggie patty is awful. They taste nasty to me. I've had Bocca burgers and other meat substitutes before and they are pretty good. JC needs to work on this area. I don't buy the rising crust pizza because of the crumbles. The potstickers are icky as is the cheesy enchilada. There is better soy out there.
I guess it's just a matter of taste on the soy issue. There must be something else. |

I sometimes buy a few things for my DH who is vegetarian, and the only things he has actually liked are the pizzas. He thinks the enchilada and the potato are OK, but doesn't care for the rest. A few more veggie entrees would be nice. I personally used to LOVE LOVE LOVE the veggie burger and would order it every week! I really miss that one. The Pasta Ole was pretty decent, too.
Take care, Angela -------------------- |

I think they should make saag chole. Its an indian spinach and chickpea dish. I can get saag from my health food store that is already made and you just heat it up...its AMAZING!! I think it would be really easy for them to make to make this. Have they ever had anything like it before???

I just rejoined Jenny Craig and I have to say I was a little dissapointed. I was a client about four years ago but since then I have quit eating meat and there are not a lot of choices. I was looking forward to the veggie burger but its gone and I hear they are taking a couple of veggie soups away. How can they do this. I had only seven lunch options and that includes the tuna salad. I will eat seafood on ocassion thank goodness or I would be down to six. How can we get Jenny Craig to include more vegetarian entrees?

I love the idea of adding an Indian dish! There are so many good ones!
I agree with the veggie issue. I am heading back to my vegan ways and being on Jenny is making that really hard. It would be nice to have some dishes that were totally animal-product free. It doesn't have to have fake meats- just a lentil based option for those of us who want to cut the meat out. Plus it's an environmentally sounder choice. And considering all the waste Jenny dieters go through with the pre-packaed meals, I would hope that JC would start to be a little more forward thinking. Long live the Veggies!! -------------------- |

I'm not a vegetarian but I could do with alot fewer meat products and alot more vegetarian options. To me, the trade-off for actual beef or chicken isn't worth it. I'd rather eat other things. I eat vegetarian about 4 days a week.
I'd love for Jenny to have a frozen mixed grilled vegetables on quinois or bulgar, I love the idea of salad toppers or mixes to add to greens that are full of protein, interesting fruit etc. I know we're supposed to volumize with fresh veggies but sometimes i don't have that luxury. More meal substitutes like shakes, meal bars etc could help here too. -------------------- |

I just signed up for JC today and it was really hard to try and pick the very few items that I had to choose from. I would love it if there were more items to choose from. I know that I havent tasted any of the items yet but I know that it is going to be hard to try and keep my interest if I am faced with the same meals every week.

YES!! Today is my first day on Jenny and I'm already a bit frustrated as a vegetarian - you would think it would be less expensive to make veggie options anyway! I had the lasagna for lunch and was not thrilled with the "faux" meat - there's nothing wrong with making something straight up vegetarian! JENNY LISTEN TO US - MORE VEGETARIAN OPTIONS PLEASE!! Lean cuisine and Amy's have sooo many options - follow suite!

Just adding another voice, PLEASE JC do more veggie options!!
I've just started eating a Lean Cuisine or Smart Ones instead of my Jenny lunches, just because I'm sick of the 3 Jenny lunches I can eat |

It would really be nice if there were at least 7 veggie options for each meal, so that we can at least have a different thing each day of the week. I also would REALLY appreciate it if a vegetarian menu was posted so that we can follow it as an example. It would really not be difficult for Jenny Craig to attempt this!
