I rejoining Jenny Craig after 3 year absence. I have been a vegetarian for 10 years, and would love to see other veggie options. But I plan on adding free veggies to the new soup.

Hi,
I am a vegetarian who quit 2 years ago due to lack of variety for lunch and dinner. I am back and suprised that this is still the case. I have already complained. Please bring back the veggie burger and other veggie options! We can't even eat the cheesecake, for crying out loud! |

I talked with my consultant regarding different options for a vegetarian menu. I was concerned that I wasn't getting enough protein and am a little sick of pasta, pasta, pasta! So I am incorporating meals on my own with the Morningstar Farms veggie burger and adding the veggie sausage to some of the dishes. I've lost 24 lbs so far, and lets face it, I had lots of junk food options as a vegetarian, hence my current predicament. So, I can't complain about a lack of variety with healthy portion controlled foods that are making me skinny! Veggie Patch has 54% less fat then most of Morningstar Farms options. My favorite is the Garlic Porabella burgers. I added them to my diet in place of some of the pasta dishes. Veggie Patch brand is found in most Super Walmarts. http://www.veggiepatch.com/ Thank you all for helping a newbie feel good. -------------------- God Bless, MsWriter

Yummy I love a good veggie burger!!! Looking to Join JC. I am not a full time veggie but skip the meat at least 2-3 times per week. I was just looking over the JC menu and agree there are not many veggie choices... Could you just stir fry a small amount of tofu for protein with a variety of non- starchy veggies and add a little ginger, garlic and lite soy sauce for flavor?

I totally agree. I've just returned to JC and i was really disappointed at the lack of variety and options for vegetarians in the program. Especially considering how much money we have to spend each week on food. I actually thought there weren't that many vegetarians doing JC since the options are so pathetic, but I asked my center director about it and he said they have a lot of vegetarians in the program. So why the lack of choice and variety???? There are so many creative things that JC could do to accomodate a vegetarian diet and I don't get why they don't do it. Honestly, I don't see how I'll be able to stick with this program very long... I'll likely move to the Amy's diet in a short time. After all, it will be more selections for less money. JC is going to lose a lot of valuable clients if they don't step it up!!! They would probably even gain more veggie customers if they had a well-rounded vegetarian program. RIP veggie burger -- you will be missed.

I love veggie burgers. Can't we just have a meal on our own and do this or were the ones they had that good?

I love veggie burgers. Can't we just have a meal on our own and do this or were the ones they had that good? I am another one of those non-vgeaterians who likes to pass on the meat frequently. I find my self replacing a number of JC meals with ones from the Amy's and Kashi lines simply because they are meat free. They also tend to be higher in fiber and taste better as well. You have to read the labels carefully to stay within the Jenny ranges but those lines will be good for maintenance later. |

hi all,
i've just come back to JC after a few years of keeping the weight off. A trip to Disney on the mealplan put back a few pounds and I'm back before a few becomes a few more. YES!! We do need more veggie options and a veggie burger would be great. Too much pasta isn't great for anyone, including me, even though I really like it! |

I'm signing the petition. More veggies options are a necessity. Not just for us as veggies, but for the environment as a whole. It won't kill carnivores to add more meatless protein to their meals. They will probably even start to feel better and lose more weight.
Next step- vegan options! -------------------- |

OK- I just looked at the Dr.Praeger's Burgers- I get them at Trader Joe's. They are 110 calories and under the fat and up on fiber. Orowheat has a new type of burger bun that really skinny- 100 calories for the whole thing. Its right on taget for the same calories and fiber, etc as the Pasta Fagioli. So its an alternative to the JC burger and can malke a nice diversion if you need a change- AND a veggie burger!

I'm on week three of program, but disappointed with lack of veg. choices, too. Pizza, pasta, got me where I am! I have enjoyed Morningstar products and will at halfway point I'll substitute a few in. Why are they not hearing the requests of us Veggies? Please bring back burger and a few other choices for us!!!
