hi, i'm glad to see there is a vegetarian board here! i have been on jenny craig a couple times before but have gotten bored with the veggie selection. how have you fellow vegetarians handle this? is it possible to do a meal on my own once or twice a week to break up the monotiny? maybe i haven't had a consultant that encouraged this. any thoughts on the subject would be greatly appreciated!

Hello.

I am a newbie too. This is my first try on this program. I really need to lose weight. My Dad has been sick for a couple of years and the weight has piled on. I hate this skin I am in. I am in there under all this. I had an interesting foray into the JC clinic.

When I originally went into the center to join the counselor initially told me that since I was a vegetarian that I could not join and if I would have called first she would have told me not to bother to come in. When I told her I had been on this forum and there were other veggies out there she did ask someone else. But prior to asking she did ask me to "reconsider" being a vegetarian. WHAT? Let me see... yeah, no! I was stunned but I did talk to someone that did know what they were talking about.

So, today was my first day. It wasn't bad at all. So I don't know how boring the meals will be. I was looking forward to the chocolate cheesecake all day I must say. The penne pasta was pretty good. The broc/cheese potatoe wasn't bad. I wasn't in love, but not bad. The little dollar pancakes were good. I don't normally eat breakfast so they were tasty. I don't normally drink that much milk. So that might run its course. Do you know what I do instead of milk if I don't want to drink all that? I am hoping that I will get some things going so I will be really motivated. I want results and I want to do this.

I want this gone. If I could have it sucked out I might do that. I know that is dangerous so I know I have to do it slow. It is not how much I eat it is what I eat. I am off the Dr. Pepper. I have been off "the juice" for about 2 months now. That is a big deal for me. They will probably go out of business soon. hehe

I will look forward to a reply from you.

Take care and good luck.

Hi! i totally feel your pain!! I've been in a deep depression for the last 2 years and really packed on the lbs! That is depressing in itself. I am entertaining the idea to restart the program and understand your hesitation in regards to the vegetarian program. I'm surprised you were told you should consider not being a vegetarian. I didn't run into that. I've been thinking about the limited choices in the meals, but i think you can do some substituting for all the milk. i think you can sub soy milk. maybe make a soy latte if you drink coffee. I will say that if you can stick to it the weight will come off.! hang in there and thanks for writing to me! i really appreciate it!

The food, while not the variety that the "other side" has, is good tasting (better than lean cuisine, etc.) -- I've made do and it helps that you learn a LOT about portion control.

The dinners are okay, I just wish they had more lunches. But breakfast and dinners I can live with.

Keep us up to date on how you're doing!

Okay. I would like to try the veggie buger. This is my third day. I can say that the Creamy Potato Soup taste like crap. But I liked the cheesy enchiladas, penne pasta, lasagna and the breakfasts.

So far it has not been bad. I have most of my trouble at night. I am hungry right now. But I HAVE NOT cheated. I am so proud of myself. I do worry a bit about Easter. I think I am just going to say I have a tummy ache so I don't have to explain over and over.

Go Veggie Burger.
