Mad, mad, mad, mad, mad!
J.C. got rid of all my favorite veggie meals. VEGGIE BURGER! PASTA OLE! AND A FEW OTHER VEGGIE LOVED OPTIONS! Like we do not have that much to choose from as it is. Not to mention that we used to have our very own veggie menu planned meals. Ugh! J.C. should check out their competition. They take good care of their veggie clients. Most have veggie substitute meals for their veggie clients to choose from. It is J.C. who should get with the program. At least sell what we love in the grocery store if you are not going to sell it at your centers. Ugh!!! :mad

I am not vegetarian, but I do agree with you. There are times, when I dont want meat in every meal.
My friend is on the program, and she is only eating the pizzas, she is a vegetarian. She is doing good 16 lbs in four weeks, but like she said, once i get sick of pizza, what am I going to eat. She said she will porbably have to come off the program, and do her own diet.
They need way more meatless dishes, other then soups, and that nasty penne pasta- yuck!! This is the firs J.C. meal I threw away. Tastes like bland mush, with sauce.

Hate to say it, but Nutra System has a veggie menu and a line of veggie meals for their clients. JC needs to step up to the plate and give them some competition.

Realize I am late to the post, but I could not agree more. I loved the veggie burgers when I did JC before and was so disappointed when I just signed up to learn they got rid of them. This is my 3rd time with JC. I can never stay on it long because I get so sick of constantly eating pasta and pizza.

Also, when they signed me up they told me some meals were vegetarian that weren't. I read the ingredients, called, and they were less than apologetic. I just think they don't care about veggies. The moment a diet company pops up that caters more to my diet I am jumping ship.

Just FYI: Amy's has put together a 2-wk diet plan at http://www.amys.com/special_diets/diet_plan.php
It's a 1500 calorie/day plan, but at least it has more variety than JCs

Thanks everyone! I just found the link to Amy's Kitchen, and the food sounds great! I'm anxious to try some of them out. I'm getting very tired of the limited vegetarian JC food offerings, and need some variety!

Is it true that we just have to compare the calories and fat? Not sodium?? I'm still new at this (on my 3rd week).

Thanks!

Hi - Thanks for the link to Amy's website. This is my 3rd week on JC, I have been on this diet a few other times and quit due to lack of food choices. I'm sure you can mix and match JC and Amy's meals. It looks like their diet is based around the same exchanges as JC. I'm going to talk to my counselor the next time I go in and if no one else has posted a comment answering the calorie/fat question I'll let you know.

There aren't alot of Vegetarian diets out there and if they would offer more choices, they could bring in a lot more clients and money. Which as we all know is the bottom line.

Thanks again!

I just wanted to say that I am very disappointed in the fact that JC has limited the choices for vegitarians even more. I am no a veritarian, however, I am allergic to pork and I recently started eating red meat after about 10 years of not eating it which means I can only eat it in extreme moderation. I've ordered the veggie meals because it gave me more of a variety with my limited meat choices and with the fact that JC finds a way to put bacon, sausage, etc. in nearly every dish.
This really sucks.

Just like you, I'm also very disappointed with the available vegetarian dishes. I eat fish and seafood as well, and still feel that there is a lack of variety. The first time I tried JC was in 1999 and they used to offer a veggie burger, shrimp pasta, and other items, which have been taken off the menu since then. I agree, JC needs to expand its vegetarian options beyond pasta and pizza, otherwise the menu becomes dull and people may loose interest and motivation.

I agree Penne Pasta is the WORST.. WE NEED MORE VEGGIE FOOD!!!!

Yes, does anyone know what we need to compare when looking for substitutions? Like subbing a Amy's breakfast burrito for a JC breakfast for example?

Thanks!

Rats! This is my second week and I don't really like the meat in the dishes, so was going to go veggie, though I normally LOVE meat. It's just creepy meat, I'm sorry. Now I see there's not going to be much of a choice? Yikes!!!! Can I have Fish And Chips every day?!

cf80-OMG thank you so much for that website. I am a vegetarian that really doesn't like cheese or eggs either. I def would like a little more variety in my meals, even though I am also ok w/ eating Pizza (minus the cheese) & Pasta Fagioli every night for dinner. I think I'll give some of these Amy's foods a try starting next week.

I just joined JC on monday and my food is arriving today. Now I am nervous about the sausage and bacon commment. Do they refund you in clearly it isn't vegetarian? I have no idea what they are sending me- I said I needed all vegetarian meals. I am only trying to lose 15-20 lbs, but I am not sure eating pizza all of the time is going to make me enjoy food. Maybe thats the trick- hate what you get, don't eat, lose weight. I guess I give it the 30 days and see!
I have had Amy's meals and I have yet to find one that I don't like.

Not to worry about the meatless meals. If it states it's meatless, it is. Doesn't mean it's vegan, in fact they tell you that JC is not for vegans, but it won't have meat products. I think what the PP meant was that some chicken dishes will have bacon in it, when you wouldn't expect it. I'm not vegetarian, but I dislike beef and get tired of chicken, so I eat almost all of the veggie meals. For lunch I like the pizza, cheesy enchilada, stuffed potato. There are a couple of soups but I don't like soups in general. For dinner, I respectfully disagree with the people who don't like the penne pasta - I do! rolleyes.gif . Also, the lasagna, mac & cheese, cheese ravioli & pasta fagioli are good (IMO). I do agree wholeheartedly that they should have more variety, because the veg options are mostly pasta. I was a bit afraid of the pasta fagioli ohmy.gif because it doesn't look terribly attractive, and the pasta is too soft, but the flavor overall is good. I add red pepper flakes and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan to perk it up.

Please don't give up on it before even trying the meals. I've been on JC since December and I enjoy the food quite a bit. I love Amy's too, and there is no comparison -- Amy's uses whole grains, organic ingredients, no frankenfood!! But for now JC serves my purposes very well.

I wish you the best!

Yeah, I love the Penne Pasta. For dinner, your meal plan says to add vegetable (min. 1/2 cup) so I just added some Salsa sauce to it. Same thing with the Pasta Fagioli. The program is great, so you guys shouldn't give up. Even though this is my second week on the program, but the food tastes soo GOOD!!

I was looking to join JC, but I am a vegetarian....More specifically, I'm a vegen. I was told directly by a JC consultant that JC did not have any options for me. It sound like JC has not much more for vegetarians that eat egg and milk products. It's kind of disappointing in this day and age when being a vegetarian is no longer a anomoly, with more and more people opting for non-meat meals, whether or not they consider themselves vegetarian.

I'll take the advice of a few members and try Nutra System or Amy's. Good luck to those of you still on JC. rolleyes.gif
