Hi,
I've been doing Jenny for 3 weeks now. I've lost 10 pounds of my 30 and I feel great. I'm so happy that many of the meals are meatless. I've been a lacto-ovo-vegetarian for more than 12 years. Not too many dieting options for vegetarians when we need a little help. I'm hoping to hit my goal weight by the new year. To meet that goal, I would need to lose an average of a little more than a pound per week, over the next 14 weeks. It may take a bit longer and that is ok too. I would sure like to ring in the new year in those skinny jeans that are hanging in my closet! |

Welcome. I too have been a vegetarian for over 12 years. I agree with the difficulties of dieting. As an ovolacto, it's really easy to eat nothing but starches all day. Convenience can be a killer. Good luck. Let me know if I can be of any help.

Thanks for the welcome Timshel. I fully understand the too much starch. My problems start when I get lazy. We can eat so many fruits and veggies and they taste wonderful. I just don't want to take the time to buy them and prepare them. The Jenny vegetarian meals are pretty starchy but if I eat my fruits and veggies along with it, I feel so much better. I need to get a couple new vegetarian light cooking cookbooks and start getting creative in the kitchen again.

It's good to know I'm not the only lazy vegetarian. I've found a lot of good, light recipes off of the Internet that aren't too difficult to make. I'm just glad to know there are lots of lowfat/lowcal desserts since I'm a dessert FIEND.

I've got a sweet tooth also. Being on Jenny has reminded me how much I love the taste of fresh fruit. |

I'm considering joining, but am worried about the lack of variety for pescatarians (like me!) - only 5 different dinner entrees? What do you all do for variety??

After about week one, I started to incorporate my own meals and other vegetarian frozen meals into the plan. My first counselor was a vegetarian, so she was definitely understanding of this. I am EXTREMELY picky, so if I can make it work, I'm sure anyone can. Good luck to you, regardless of what you decide to do!

That does help - did you start with the 20 lbs for $20 and then buy into one of the other programs? My husband is really skeptical of my doing this with frozen foods. I typically prepare fresh foods and some prepared (Amy's enchiladas, Costco quiches) but need some structure and accountability!

I started with the rewards program, but I have made back more than enough money. I understand your husband's concerns. It's whatever works for you though. With my work schedule, cooking is a rarity. When I get home, I just want to heat and eat.
