Valerie Bertinelli and Jenny Craig Walk in Support of the American Heart Association’s Los Angeles Heart Walk
Bertinelli will walk with “Team Jenny” on September 29th and will share her story of why heart health is a personal matter for her
Carlsbad, Calif. (September 29, 2012) — Jenny Craig Brand Ambassador Valerie Bertinelli is proud to participate in the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk on behalf of “Team Jenny,” at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles, California on Saturday, September 29th. The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association's premiere event that brings communities together to raise funds and celebrate progress in the fight against heart diseases and stroke. As a national sponsor of the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk, Jenny Craig is supporting more than 300 walks across the United States in 2012.
Bertinelli, who has lost weight on the Jenny Craig program, recognizes the importance of being in good heart health, and owes her mother’s life to Jenny Craig. Bertinelli’s mother, Nancy, lost 54 pounds* on Jenny Craig after witnessing her daughter’s success on the program. In October of 2008, Bertinelli’s mother required emergency heart valve replacement surgery. After the successful surgery, the cardiologist pulled Bertinelli and her brother aside and told them that if their mother hadn’t previously lost weight, she would not have survived the surgery.
