Corporate Dietitian and Program Development Manager

As a Manager of Program Development, Tara Cox helps to drive the development of the Jenny Craig menus, program materials and counseling strategies utilized by staff and clients. Ms. Cox also provides technical expertise in the creation of non-food products such as cookbooks, activity tools and motivational products, offers content for the Jenny Craig website, and directs the enrollment of clients with special health conditions, such as insulin-dependent diabetes.

For the two years prior to joining the Program Development team at Jenny Craig, Ms. Cox's career has focused on worksite well programs. Most recently, she acted as staff research associate at the UCLA School of Public Health, working with elementary schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District to create worksite wellness programs as part of the Nutrition Friendly Schools and Community Program. Prior to that, Ms. Cox created the worksite wellness program for Dole Food Company, as Director of Employee Wellness, where she was also instrumental in the development of the Dole Nutrition Institute website. Before that, she served as outpatient dietitian for Health Care Partners, providing individual nutrition counseling and group instruction in the areas of cholesterol, diabetes and weight management. Ms. Cox began her career as a nutrition software trainer with Computrition, Inc.

Ms Cox received her Bachelor's of Science degree cum laude in biology from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University and her Master's of Public Health from the University of North Carolina, at Chapel Hill.

As a registered dietitian, Ms Cox is a member of the American Dietetic Association, the California Dietetic Association, the San Diego Dietetics Association as well as the ADA Dietitians in Business and Communications, the ADA Weight Management and the ADA Diabetes Care and Education Dietetic Practice Groups. She also holds a certification as a Health Promotions Coordinator and a Certificate of Active Lifestyle Facilitation Skills Training from The Cooper Institute in Dallas, Texas.
