Lisa Talamini
Vice President, Research and Program Innovation
Appointed Vice President of Research and Program Innovation, in June 2007, Lisa Talamini has been with Jenny Craig since 1990. For many years she served as the Director of Program Development, which included her role as liaison to Jenny Craig's prestigious Medical Advisory Board, a Board which she was instrumental in building. Working closely with this Board, she and her team of registered dietitians and nutritionists have consistently assured that clients receive a program that is safe, effective and science-based.
Over the years, Lisa has been responsible for the development of all Jenny Craig menus and educational materials including client manuals, cookbooks and Dining out Guides. She has worked closely with the marketing, operations and training departments to assure consistency in how the program is presented and delivered, both externally and internally. She also coordinates the internal support of crucial external clinical research and is preparing to launch the follow-up to the recently published NEAT clinical trial.
In her new capacity as a Vice President, Lisa reports directly to CEO Patti Larchet, with a dotted-line reporting link to Thomas Schweizer, head of Nestlé Nutrition Research and Development, in Switzerland. In addition to continuing her role as a valuable media spokesperson and representative for both the program and Company, Lisa will also remain the liaison with the MAB and will now oversee program development and the food technology and quality assurance department as well as the food and retail product development department.
After receiving a bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, in Foods & Nutrition from California State Polytechnic University, Lisa completed Dietetic Internship at the nationally acclaimed LAC-USC Medical Center. She also has a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management from the American Dietetic Association, a Certificate of Active Lifestyle Facilitation Skills Training from the Cooper Institute, and a Certificate in Lifestyle and Weight Management from the American Council on Exercise.
In fact, Lisa has more than 25 years of experience in the application of lifestyle changes for weight management, health and well being. She served as Pediatric Dialysis & Transplant Dietitian at Children's Hospital. Before that, she was an Intensive Care/Nutrition Support Dietitian at LAC-USC Medical Center for three years.
Lisa is a member of the American Dietetic Association, ADA Weight Management Practice Group, ADA Dietitians in Business and Communications Practice Group, ADA Culinary Professionals Practice Group, ADA Sports and Cardiovascular Dietitians Practice Group, the American Association of Diabetes Educators, the North American Association for the Study of Obesity, the California Dietetic Association, International Dance and Exercise Association, and the Society for Behavioral Medicine. She has also received training for Pediatric and Adolescent Weight Management from ADA, Motivational Interviewing and ASTD.
